Yeah, the whole bar changed after a girl got set up there. I think she was set up the DJ and 2 fat girls. was working with the bartender and was spiking girl's drinks. She woke up the next day her stomach was hurting. She was sick as she couldn't remember what happened after just 2 drinks. She said she remembered throwing up a pill. Something definitely wasnt right this was summer 2022

I was visiting from out of town and saw there was a a throwback event online for the night before Thanksgiving at the lounge. I made food reservations (on your site) and everything. I ubered (which wasn't cheap) to the location and went in. The staff seemed extremely surprised about me making a reservation. Then, I was told the establishment was closed for a private event. If your establishment is closed to the public, it needs to be advertised to the public. I paid to go across counties for nothing. In addition, when I walked in, it did not seem welcoming. It was very off and next time I'm visiting home, I'm hesitant to come to this lounge. Please do better.

I ordered the mix African tapas. Food is for birds. Definitely overpriced with small portions. Not even 1 plantain in it and Suya is just grilled meat. Will never oreder from here again.

I honestly don't even know where to start with this place. I've been traveling abroad for the past 3 and a half years and just recently returned back to Silver Spring this summer. From what i remember this restaurant used to be great! I'm not sure if they switched owners, but it has gone down hill tremendously. Firstly more than half of the liquor bottles behind the bar are empty every time I come in, half of the items on the menu are never in stock, the garnishes are old and dried out. Honestly the list goes on.... From what I can see this establishment seems to be a facade, the ambiance is nice when you first walk in but once you sit and start to notice your surroundings it's nothing but a front. I'm very disappointed I used to love this place....Overall, i say save your time and most definitely your money.

Happy hour, one week ago - I was impressed with the griot (fried pork Haitian dish) & djon djon (Haitian rice) dish! I don't believe the chef is Haitian, so I think they did a really good job (it even included banan peze and pikliz).The service was great, and the DJ was spinning some nice tunes from the 90s/early 2000s. I enjoyed myself.

Had to remind the bartender I ordered the HAITIAN rum punch when the bartender attempted to get the rail rum, yet I was still charged an automatic 20% service charge (even when dining by yourself!) Also, out of the 7 bar chairs, only 3 of them aren’t broken smh.

I usually don't give 1 star ratings, but I feel like that is fair based on the number of issues that occurred. Initially when I walked in, I liked the vibes, the ambiance of the white seating area was nice, so I decided to place an order to go and enjoy the ambiance. Once I placed my order, I had to wait for about 30 minutes despite less than ten people in there. And it looked like they were all by the bar enjoying drinks, so I was confused by the wait. But as mentioned, the vibes were decent, and the bartender was amiable and accommodating. However, the food was disappointing. I placed two orders to go, the first one African Suya with jollof rice and the second one Jerk Salmon with white rice. As you can see in the photos, my order was incorrect. The Jerk salmon was supposed to come with white rice as shown in their menu but they instead added jollof rice and the African suya I asked for jollof rice with it but it was packaged by itself. I am upset I paid close to 50 dollars for an order that was wrong and not even as delicious. The jerk salmon had sautéed onions on it and was too salty, affecting the taste, and the African suya tasted like it went rancid or spoiled, and as someone who is Nigerian and enjoy suya it was not like how Suya should taste or look. After eating a few bites, I hope I don't get food poisoning . It seems like they are under new management but they need to figure it out because this is unacceptable for the start of a new look/restaurant.
