My family and I went for dinner. I have been a few times and it was always good. This time it was not. Burger was like a hockey puck o couldn't eat it. My daughter fettuccini tasted like pure cream no Parmesan and no seasoning My husband paid 20 for 1 small piece of catfish we had to go get him more food somewhere else. New chef, bad night I don't know but it will be awhile before I give it another try

This was one of several great meals we had while here for the weekend. We arrived just before the last available tables were filled (we did call ahead to reserve a table) & chose to sit inside as it was quite warm outside. We still had a good view of the water & our waitress took our drink order quickly. Inside area is small & lively - not intimate, but definitely has that 'hideaway' atmosphere. My Girlfriend ordered the Seafood Cannelloni & I went with Coconut Lemon Chicken. Orders came quickly & both entrees were winners! Very well flavored & nicely prepared. They do have on-site parking, but we had already parked on the street. This was my first visit to the island & I'm glad we did reserve a table beforehand, as it looks like the available restaurants fill up fast at dinnertime. I would definitely eat here again...

Nice they have a dock to tie up to and walk up to eat the food was great. Price was alright but felt they are slightly stingy on the amount of food. I would eat here again.

First visit and it greatly exceeded our expectations. Selected entrees from the specials for the day, Chicken Cordon Bleu and Beef and Broccoli Lo Mein. Both were superbly prepared! The cream of crab soup was also very good, as was the Crab Dip and Soft Pretzel appetizer. Service was excellent!

Ate dinner here for the first time and will definitely be going back. Waitress was amazing and the food was also. The crab dip was the best I've ever had. We also had the Island hideaway taco's (mahi mahi) and the soft crab BLT which were both cooked to perfection. Only negative I saw was the hostess wouldn't stay off her phone long enough to pay attention.

The food was great! We got a table right away bc we didn't mind eating inside but the outside tables looked inviting. Right on the water...but when you live on a. Oat you are always right on the water and the AC appealed more. I got the drink special of the day which was a lavender lemon Martini made with gin. Very refreshing. Hubby got a hoppy beer. His fav nowadays. I ordered the coconut crusted mahi and it was just enough dish for me but some bigger eaters may have thought it to be a little small. And the coconut wasn't obvious like it is in coconut shrimp but I would order it again. I also got asparagus (which was cooked just the way I like it) and the skratch corn which had pimentos and bacon. It needed a little something to make it outstanding but it was tasty. We got the lemon berry cake for dessert and it was just okay. Needed more lemon flavor. Overall the server was great and we will come back the next time we are in Solomons Island.

We decided to walk-in to The Island Hideaway on the humble. No reservations were available, but we figured we could try the bar. We got it, and the hostess fit us in within minutes. Our waitress, Sofia, was slammed, but a very kind, arm-sleeved, tattooed waitress stepped in to assist when needed. Thanks friend! We appreciate you. We were pleased with the homemade salad dressing (ranch & balsamic.) The crab cakes were good. The fries were amazing. My husband asked for a medium steak, but it was well done. He kept it because it was seasoned well and tender. The sangria was also good just not strong. Almost forgot the best part....Due to my husband's clumsiness, he dropped his crab cake on the ground, and they quickly offered another at no charge. The views were phenomenal. Definitely worth the impromptu stop. #greattimes

Excellent menu, food, cocktails, ambience and service. Wifey and I did a quick getaway to Solomons Island and discovered a GEM!!!! We stayed 3 days and The Island Hideaway should be on the top of the list for dining. Grace provided her excellent and professional service to us and should be commended for her efforts. She was totally top notch!!!! KUDOS to this establishment.

Love it here .. so laid back and the ambiance is giving it a 10. I have visited this place since moving to the area and it definitely will not be the last. Both inside abs outside is comfortable and inviting.

I love love LOVE this restaurant. I found this spot on google when my husband and I were looking for somewhere in the area to eat. Autumn was our waitress and was amazing. OMG THE CRAB DIP IS THE BEST I'VE EVER HAD. My burger was so delicious and my husband enjoyed the chicken raviolli. If you are ever in the area YOU HAVE TO GO HERE. I love how they bring the check out in the fake book. So cute and clever.

Not Impressed! My family and I drove 35 minutes to have a Father's Day brunch. We reserved an outside table but when we arrived, the hostess said that there were no outside tables available and stuck us at a table next to the door. After we ordered our food, it took 40...yes I said 40 minutes for our food to come out! The waitress said that the reason was because the brunch burgers we ordered require a longer time to cook. I'm not a chef or anything but I'm pretty sure it doesn't take 40 minutes to cook a couple burgers! The food was ok...definitely not worth the wait. My son ordered French toast that was supposed to come with strawberries....it didn't. When I asked the waitress for the strawberries, she brought a small cup consisting of half a sliced strawberry...smh! The location is nice but we will not be returning to this restaurant!

While in the area, my family and I stopped by The Island Hideaway for lunch. The front parking lot was all gravel so I recommend you park on the main road and walk if that's not your thing. After calling ahead to check, there wasn't much of a wait and we were seated around 12:30pm on a Saturday. Although for our larger group of six, they seated us outside on picnic tables. It was quite toasty and half of us had to sit in the sun. The view of the dock and close proximity of the water helped to make up for it though. We had started with a few drinks and a crab dip. The crab dip was fairly decent and was accompanied by pretzel logs. For my main, I had gotten the fish of the day. You get to pick the style in which you'd like it prepared. I had gotten mine coconut crusted and it you could really taste the coconut. It had also come with an apricot jam to dip. The combination of the two was just right. For my sides I had chosen 'skratch' corn and skinny fries. Both were also fairly decent, but nothing to write home about. The apricot jam went great with the fries and my table asked for more. Overall, I had enjoyed my time here. The waitstaff was kind and the atmosphere was fitting for a seafood lunch.

This place definitely is a hideaway with delicious food. I ordered the Solomons Surfer, hideaway fries, and the fish of the day (coconut-crusted mahi mahi) with "skratch" corn and a house salad. The fries were hot and crispy. The drink was smooth and delicious. The mahi-mahi was cooked really well and I liked the citrus-y sauce that came with it. I really enjoyed the crispiness of the crust and the tenderness of the mahi-mahi. Although I wish there wasn't so much corn on the plate - I couldn't finish it all. The server was super sweet and recommended the coffee caramel crème brûlée. It was such a great dessert to end on. It was nice to overlook the marina and watch boats sail by while eating. The restaurant had a nice ambiance and staff.

SIYC marina and staff were fantastic. We enjoyed meeting the members and the facility.

We were excited to try this restaurant but never made it past the unwelcoming, unprofessional and rude hostess. She seemed annoyed and bothered by our party of five - which included 3 kids. There were many open tables but she told us they all had reservations "in about 2 hours" so we "probably wouldn't be done by then." First she told us it would be a 45 minute wait but when we said we would put our name in she said "it will actually be closer to an hour and a half." Her poor and dismissive demeanor led to us going to a restaurant across the street. We had a much better experience there!
