Usually don't write neg. reviews but I bought an apple pie on Sat. here and was very disappointed with the pie. The apples were hard and the bottom crust was still raw. I paid $29 for a loaf of wheat bread, a brownie and the pie. It had to be the most expensive pie I have ever bought. I have had better pies from super markets.

We went there yesterday for the first time, we bought a chicken pot pie, strawberry/rhubarb pie, cinnamon roll, brownies, and individual breads. We had the chicken pot pie for dinner last night. It was so good tonight will have strawberry rhubarb for dessert but so far I have not been disappointed would highly recommend.

Oh my! These pastries are the best, and there is a lot to choose from. This little shop is not to be missed!

This is a great little bakery! Their bread loaves are the most delicious and fluffy bread I've ever had. Good cider gallons in the fall. Whoopie pies, cookies, brownies, to name a few! The staff is always very nice. The hours do change seasonally, in the summer they are open every day 10-3 and it's amazing!

Raisin bread we stop by to see what the bakery had to offer on 6/24/22. To my wife’s and my surprise the bakery was offering cookies of sorts and fresh baked bread. To top it off the had just made four loafs of Raisin Bread a favorite of mine. We selected a couple of cookies and a loaf of Raisin bread to take along on our trip. We eat half the loaf that evening and cut the 1/2 in half again and froze them. We eat in half three days later and the today 7/5/22. It tasted as well if not better toasted with butter and a cup of coffee. Got to love it!❤️ Jim and Norma

Traveling in Alfred, I stopped by what was once the Bakery at Notre Dame, part of the property owned by the Brothers of Christian Instruction. Under its new name, the bakery is now under the York County Shelter Programs. Although the management has changed, the quality of the wonderful bakery products is still maintained. Now, the bakery focuses a little more on pastries than breads. On my visit, I arrived soon before closing. I was greeted warmly when I entered the building. I was hoping for some cider donuts, but there were none. I did get a small Zucchini Bread at $3.50. It was very good. I rate The Shaker Hill Bakery at 4.50 and highly recommend stopping by.
