This place was such a nice find. Multiple servers talked to us & hoped our meal was well. Every single person was kind beyond belief. Cid was our server and he was so friendly and recommended the Halibut picatta, it was delicious.

We went there yesterday and ordered gnocchi with chicken. The dish came in as if we are served a food in a casual home made family dinner. It was not even close to a restaurant quality dish.The taste was bad and every food was bland and tasteless. I think this place is way overpriced for this quality.

Mama Dimatteos was a really quaint, cozy Italian restaurant we discovered by reading reviews. We had to get reservations - it is a popular place to eat. The staff were excellent, food delicious, wine list limited but sufficient, and cocktail menu had a variety of delicious drinks. Everything we had was excellent but I really remembered the garlic nuggets which were awesome as an appetizerWe ate there twice during our stay in Bar Harbor and would definitely dine here again. I would definitely recommend this restaurant if you like good Italian food.
Vegetarian options: They were willing to make most of their dishes as vegetarian options. My wife is lacto-ovo vegetarian but not vegan and she was very happy with the options offered.

We stopped by for a small meal before turning in for the night; after a full day we didn't want anything heavy so did a few appetizers to share. We sat on the patio which was lovely and had beef kabobs, garlic knots, and mac n' cheese. Everything was super tasty, and the server was amazing. I was having one of those moments where you read one thing, but your brain interprets it as something else... she clarified, then clarified again; ensuring I got what I wanted vs. what I was asking for. Really really appreciated it!It was a nice end to a great day, and I'd like to go back and try some of their entrees.

Three of us stopped for appetizers and a drink. Food was tasty but the price was obscene. For example, the artichoke appetizer cost $14.95 and included--I'm not making this up--THREE small half artichoke hearts. Hearts the same size you get in a jar of artichoke hearts. In fact, the 3 hearts we received had to be from a jar. Granted, they were presented in a small dish, sitting in a cheese sauce so I guess that might be considered a small win.Ridiculous. Would have been overpriced at $7.
Great outdoor seating surrounded by sunflower, grape, tomato, filled planters. Our waitress, Martha, was very attentive and knowledgeable. We had chicken alfredo, meatballs, salad and bread, blueberry soda, and carrot cake. Everything was prepared and presented well.

A very nice find of a restaurant. Our waiter was awesome, and the food was amazing. We have had Mamas Onion soup (as close as you can expect to the French original in an Italian restaurant in the US), Lobster Mac'n'Cheese, Cajun Grilled Halibut on Cesar's Salad and Chicken Parmesan. All great dishes ... and not to forget to mention our awesome Blueberry Mojitos.
