Kamasouptra is located inside the Portland Public Market House, on the second floor. My husband and I decided to check out this place on a Thursday afternoon a little after 12 pm. We saw a few groups of high school students hurrying upstairs to this place for lunch (there is a high school very close by, which they must have walked over during your lunch period). It was a cold snowy day and hot soup was perfect for lunch. The vegetarian vegetable and lentil soup was great and the fresh baked roll was perfect. On the second floor of the food court. Small seating area. Fair prices.

I love soup. I love all types of soups. I love soups in the winter, or the summer; for lunch or for dinner. For me, soup is always a good idea. So, when I found Kamasouptra, a soup only spot, I was in heaven. Located in Portland's Public Market House, Kamasouptra is - like I say often - the place I didn't know I needed. I walked in on a cold winter day and ordered what ended up being one of the best clam chowders I've ever had. The thought of it gives me butterflies all over again....read full review
