The special of the day appetizer was really tasty. However, their main courses off the standard menu were sub par, particularly faulted because flavors were unbalanced to degree that inedible. Overall, would not recommend dining at Roma Cafe.

I feel bad writing this because they where nice but I been sick for 24 hours! I think I got food poisoning! First off the food has no flavor I mean my wife told me I make better chicken parm. The steak had no flavor and I ended up getting a burger and it had no flavor! A lot of places in Portland have no flavor. I been violently throwing up and have cramps I would stay far away there is better food! I honestly come from a place with good food and I'm telling you the 99s has better chicken parm. What a shame!

Beautiful and well maintained property, central location with easily found parking in the area. Ordinary, very basic in ingredients and on the heavier side on spices Italian food. Very cordial service.

First time back to roma in about 15 years. Is it possible that this place got better. Food was fantastic. We had halibut, duck, chicken parm and rigatoni. Top notch. Dessert is a must have with the cannolis. Service was fantastic and did not let us down. Can't beat the atmosphere.

We had excellent service & great food. We felt the value was very reasonable as well. We started with the Brussels sprouts which were outstanding and we both enjoyed our pastas. We look forward to coming back soon!

The food was very good and served hot and timely. The service was outstanding and all were very attentive. The meals were fairly priced for quality of dishes. We will return for another meal.

Great food, good drinks, good service, intimate environment where you're not vying for attention with televisions or trying to talk over the background. The duck was exquisite, and the red sauces are always outstanding.

The only issue we had was our food was Luke warm. When asked by the waiter, how was everything? We explained that two out of the four meals were lukewarm on the cooler side at the end there was no discount for the meals. He did offer to bring them back to be warmed up, but by then, the meals were already half eaten.

I typically don't write reviews but I felt compelled to do so here because it was probably the best dinner I have ever had. My wife and I were visiting the area and I asked a local business owner, who is Italian, if he had any recommendations for a good Italian restaurant. He suggested Cafe Roma and I made a reservation on line which was very easy. The service was phenomenal and the food was even better. Homemade pasta and the best chicken parm I have ever had. We will be visiting Cafe Roma the next time we are in Portland and I highly recommend it.

The food was excellent but there was an error on one person's order. It was a misunderstanding as to what the waiter heard versus what the customer ordered. When the customer told the waiter that he had misheard her, he didn't offer to get her the ordered dish or comp her the food made in error. In my opinion, it was a silly decision by the waiter as it left a bad feeling with our party of 5 - who are locals!

Its always good! unfortunately I would have to uses flashes for photos of the food, and that would be a distraction. Trust me the food is top notch. Never had a bad experience yet!!

Back for round two, good but not great this time. The ambience is cozy, great old house vibe. I love the focaccia bread bowl with the pre-seasoned and peppered olive oil for two bucks! We were looking for a full bodied bottle of red wine, dry but not too dry and talked to the waitress about some options. We picked one that she said was not quite full-bodied but substantial. It wasn't. Didn't hold up to the heavy pasta dishes. Other than that the service was great again, our server was friendly and timely. My date's lemon pesto pasta was OK, a bit heavy on the lemon, needed some freshness, but overall nice. I found out that Monday night is lasagna night here and I was excited to order it. The white sauce and flavorful variety of cheeses gave the lasagna a different but wonderful flavor. Honestly could've been the best lasagna I can remember having for a very long time except they decided to enhance it with kale! One thing this beautiful lasagna dish did not need was a chewy, rubbery, grainy layer of kale! Even if I liked kale it did not belong in the lasagna. That said, it was still wonderful!

After a disappointing meal at one Portland's most heralded restaurants on Friday, we were delighted with the better service and food at Roma. Our party of five couldn't pick apart any of our menu choices. Drinks, mocktails, appetizers and main meals were all great. Only one person had room for dessert--and said the cheesecake was delicious. Roma should be on your regular rotation if you dine out in Portland.

We really enjoyed our visit to Roma. The staff were all really welcoming and attentive. The ravioli and ragu were both flavorful and tasty. The special appetizer was like a deep fried mozzarella sandwich which was crunchy and cheesey. We'll definitely return.
