Via Vecchia has a beautiful dining space. Their wine list is incredible. Straight from Italy, anything you fancy you will find on this menu. We tried their grilled artichokes and sourdough break and we were impressed. We can’t wait to return for dinner. It is truly a beautiful place.

Via Veccia is a CAN’T-MISS on your trip to Portland. The service here is world-class, and their bartender Noah is second to none. Ask to sit in their atmospheric lounge to really make the most of your visit!
This is an absolutely beautiful restaurant. While visits from Rhode Island, we came in from the rain, checked our coats, and sat in a cozy corner table on a green velvet banquette. When I made the reservation the day before I requested the table and we were so happy to see that they gave it to us. The atmosphere (setting, lighting, music) is so warm and inviting with a beautiful view of the cobblestone streets. The food and drinks were also delicious. I highly recommend this Portland gem!

We went as people raved to us about the restaurant and we enjoy a nice meal out.Food was extremely overpriced for what it was.Large plates were underwhelming.Staff was pleasant but dull. It was not busy and they did not engage other than the minimum.Overall, would not go back or recommend.

Food and service was phenomenal. My husband had the Lamb and it was fall off the bone tender. I had the bolognese and it was delicious. The vanilla gelato and chocolate date cake was soooo good!!! I would definitely recommend. The ambience is very nice, not quiet but not too loud. The will also check your coat for free.
We celebrated my husband's birthday here! We were greeted with the best table (a corner spot) with the best views of both outside and inside! There was a kind birthday card on the table and a hostess offered to take our jackets. Right out of the door, I was blown away. Not even going to lie! They hooked us up! The ambiance was lovely! The green tile throughout the restaurant and in the women's bathroom is absolutely beautiful. The lighting and decor is something worth seeing. The music they can improve on for sure. Maybe some old jazz would suit the place better than the new age techno music. Just some food for thought! The meatballs are so good! Spicy. Totally satisfied by tastebuds. I make homemade meatballs often at home and not one place can top them but this place may have! Job well done. The rest of the food was a little salty, and this is coming from a gal who loves salt! So that has to say a lot! I am not sure about the cuisine, other than the meatballs, is the greatest, but the wine and drinks are. And that my friend is worth the experience (including the ambiance). Our server was awesome too! I love the way he served our wine from start to finish. I'd totally go back for sure!

Superb. Stellar. Do not miss this gem if you get anywhere near Portland. The mussels in light cream sauce with pancetta, wine and garlic - perhaps the best version I’ve tasted in 50 years of ordering them everywhere. The main was an agnolotti stuffed with lamb, ricotta and other ingredients served with roasted grape tomato and artichoke. Fantastic meal.
