Tia Helita's Mexican Cuisine

Ate there yesterday with my son. the service sucked. the food sucked. they charge you extra for the strawberries in the margarita. And the menu says the beef gravy comes with the meals, NOPE! It's a 1.50 more , and it looked like gravy train dog food. ( my dog loved it ) .First time eating there , won't be back !! for two ppl to eat, came to 60 bucks. Taco Bell would of been better. tasted like the food was microwaved !! And you have to pay for chips and salsa !! And two dollars more for using your card to pay. Ridiculous !!!

Being from So Cal and living a decade in Phoenix I gotta say this is authentic Mexican food. Food is served fresh and salsa is perfect. The atmosphere is both romantic and fun. I love that they have the inside dimly lit. Waitress was friendly and helpful. This is now my top fav Mexican food restaurant in Michigan. We will be back.

I'm disabled in a wheelchair can not use my legs. Out front is hard to get into the ramp is very steep towards the top. Got inside and u can't get past the bar in a wheelchair and if u do u can not get into the bathroom without having to move a shelf thing by yourself to make it through.

Customer Service from what I’ve seen was great. Even under stress and people leaving because of long wait times most workers kept composure. Regarding the food though. In my personal opinion the food was lackluster. Lacked flavor, lacked season, and trust I ordered a lot. 100$ worth. The only good thing I did enjoy eating as well as others. Was there Apple Burrito. Chicken and other meat items were lacking.

My son had only 1 request for his graduation Party, to have their taco bar. This was our go to place and what a disappointment, not only was my order wrong, I ordered half soft shells half hard only recieved hard shells and the bottom 2 rows were broken. I ordered a full pan of beef and full pan of chicken that was not even seasoned!!! At all. To top that off they over charged me, according to their own menu I should have been charged 470, nope 548.44. As I was checking out they told me if I use a card there will be a huge fee, $38. So if you want catering where u get over charged, unseasoned food and not what you ordered then go with these guys. I used to go to eat here all the time, and I will never go back. Get your taco bar food elsewhere.

Tried this place out after seeing their wet burrito has brown gravy-a favorite from my husband’s childhood. From the outside it really doesn’t look inviting but don’t let that stop you!! In addition to the wet burrito we ordered 1900 Margaritas, chips & salsa, and seafood burritos. Approx $60/2 adults. The rice and beans were unlike any Mexican restaurant we’ve been to and we’ve been to a lot of them! Absolutely blown away by how good this meal was. The seasoned stewed beef was melt in your mouth excellent! So glad we made the drive to check this place out. We will be repeat customers for sure!!

What Mexican restaurant charges for chips and salsa?!? Food was ok. Also charged extra for cheese on my tacos!! The flight of Margaritas was $20!!! 16oz for $20?
PLUS a fee for paying with credit card!!!
Heard great things, but we won’t be back.

This establishment has gone down hill. I have supported this restaurant for over 16 years and in the past year have received horrible customer service, old meat, and not a welcoming atmosphere for people of color it's as if the restaurant caters to whites only.
We will not be returning and.will make sure to spread the word that this restaurant is not the same. I have gotten food poisoning from this food before. Save yourself the time and money and how to el Potrero....this place sucks!
