A nice coffee shop with pleasant ambiance. The little breakfast egg sandwich is very tasty and they make it warm for you. Also would definitely recommend the chocolate beet tahini cake. Marvelous! The coffee on the other hand did not blow my mind. Having experienced other specialty coffee shops in the city, the pour over was good, but not as I would have expected from an Ethiopian Natural. It's still a decent coffee and together with the accompanied food and ambience - definitely worth to visit.

Got the ginger lemon tea with scone. The interior is cozy but the seating can be a little improved.

I've been going to Astro since 2016, and I'm so happy to see it back open and better than ever. I love that they always have affordable and quality coffee options on the menu, and that the expanded bakery selection reflects the excellent work that this team put into their sister storefront Ochre. Astro remains, hands down, the best coffee shop in Corktown, even with an expanding range of fierce competition.

Cafe Royalty . The consistency has been an operational dynasty for almost a decade now .

Astro has good coffee, experienced barsitas, and a good selection of equipment/beans for home brewing. Really good egg sandwich, too. The outdoor seating area will sometimes have dogs in cute sweaters.

Best coffee ever, well made espresso drinks, all around great. If you buy beans you can get a free coffee and the beans are truly the greatest out there, highly highly highly recommend.

Astro is one of the best coffeehouses in the country, and those egg biscuit sandwiches are unfairly irresistible. I have been a frequent customer since its inception in Corktown!I just wish that the owners and managers of Astro were not embracing Big Pharm’s approach to addressing the hysteria over Covid. This health crisis should be driving more people regard food choices as a method of protecting immunity and improving immune performance, rather than relying on the pharmaceutical option, with its premise on antisocial behavior and centrally mandated economic recession. These Big Pharm companies are, after all, the same nefarious players who poison our crops and pump our livestock with their artificial chemicals, which end up fouling our lands and waterways, and even the bodies of those who consume pharmaceutical-based food, which includes most Americans.I encourage the owners and managers of Astro to reconsider their support for this Big Business initiative that ultimately harms local, independent operations like Astro Coffee, while bolstering gargantuan chains such as Starbucks. There is an effective alternative to reducing Covid fatalities besides economic suicide at the selective expense of the most vulnerable (including not only the lowest-income individuals, but the must ethical businesses, such as Astro) and the attending Big Pharm vaccines; that alternative is natural health, which includes not only herbal and vitamin supplementation, but also personal reliance of natural food producers such as Astro Coffee.Consuming the sorts of nature-based, ethical foods such as served by Astro Coffee is an integral part of boosting immunity and protecting against viral infection, as an effective alternative to the artificial chemical-based vaccine approach, which includes all the antisocial measures such as respiration inhibition with masks, limiting or ceasing indoor dining, and overall behaving as if the physical company of other humans is frightful. Please reconsider going even further than what the government requires in its promotion of Covid hysteria. Thank you.

This review is for the Grand River location . . One of my favorite lattes @astrocoffee no syrup and it's bomb. It's such a cute area to just relax and hangout with friends. Grab yourself some treats from @ochrebakery next door too! Looking forward to the Corktown location and its return, it's the only coffee I like in the neighborhood, so hopefully not too much longer! I just wish they had WiFi. I know I know some business owners/ patrons don't dig that vibe but, for me yes it's annoying -I've lived in big cities so I get it. But, on the other side- I love Corktown, Detroit and don't want to go downtown to find WiFi. I like to be able to get out of the house sometimes and work in a different location with my lap top. I also find myself spending more money and you get to know people and your community that way. Just some food for thought for Astro. But hey, this will always be my go to latte in town!

Wish they still had indoor seating areas. Too many bugs and bees outside to eat peacefully. Also, latte with latte art on a paper cup felt sad ?. But overall wasn’t bad. The almond croissant is amazing. I have never had a more delicious croissant in my life. The egg sandwich is also great!

Cute little place, but hard to find due to no exterior signage, save for a chalkboard easel after the open. Artisanal coffee, but not much beyond that.
