We were regulars at Empress of China for years. My whole extended family was. The Lotus room is the owners son and has a lot of the same menu with some added greatness! The Mongolian beef and Mongolian chicken is to die for!! It’s made different from any Mongolian beef/chicken I’ve ever had. The lettuce wraps are also amazing and they have the best egg rolls and crab Rangoons around! I also love the sizzling rice soup and won ton soup! I miss the meat sticks terribly please bring those back! I am so happy to find The Lotus room and their amazing food and traditional Chinese recipes. The chef is amazing and the woman at the front desk is super friendly! I’d love them to open back dine in and not just take out. But I’ll take anything I can get. It’s my favorite food of all time!

Must be new owners .. just picked up our food so nasty . “ fried” rice isn’t even fried . It’s white rice with veggies in it . Sweet and sour all veggies no chicken . General chicken is frozen chicken with a little sauce . Never again

I ate here for the first time yesterday. The service was fast, the person at the front counter was a delight, and the food was AMAZING! I got the Mongolian chicken and pot stickers. So so so so good. I will definitely be going back:)

Stopping here has become a tradition every time we head up I-75 to go boondocking! This is not your typical Chinese food. It’s even better! Every dish we’ve tried has been outstanding, and we’ve sampled quite a few! Just thinking about it now makes my mouth water, even all the way in Ludington. We’ll definitely be stopping in again on our way home. Absolutely delicious! 😋 Highly recommend!

I ordered the chicken fried rice. I've never seen such skimpy portions of chicken used within a serving of chicken fried rice. The overall taste was good, but I don't care for minced chicken. About 1 oz total of chicken used would be my best guess. This is the second time this has happened.

Finally tried the Lotus Room! I had a craving for General Tso’s chicken and my wife had a hankering for Mongolian Beef. Both dishes tasted fantastic and were plentiful! It is takeout only, but I didn’t care. The service was very kind! My appetite was fulfilled. And I am happy! So happy this place exists and I will definitely be going back again.
Quick 10 min walk for some of the best Chinese takeout I’ve ever had. Friendly service and ready in 15 min. Highly recommend Mongolian combo bowl.

Mushy is first thing that comes to mind! White Rice- Mushy, Chicken egg roll- inside Mushy, Sesame Chicken had good flavor but the sauce made it mushy w no crunch to the fried chicken. Egg drop soup was ok but came with no crunchy’s. Food was expensive ($18) for how little you got. Normally you can feed 2 on Chinese or have left overs but not here at Lotus room. The lady at counter was nice & atmosphere was table and chairs stacked on top of each other. First time I tried this place, I was looking for a new Chinese spot. Should have stayed where I know what is good.

I used to love this place, but once COVID hit, like many Chinese places, they became carryout only. Some foods don't travel well and I like to eat it fresh. I'm so disappointed. Don't quite understand why they haven't gone back to dine in. It's been 5 years! 😞

Hands down the BEST Chinese food I've ever had! I got an egg roll and their Mongolian Combination with a special dietary request to leave out the shrimp. There was a bit of a wait, as they were very busy, but the staff was very friendly, the restaurant and restrooms were clean, and, most importantly, the food was hot and fresh and everything was delicious! I hope this place is around for a long time, because they've got a customer for life!
