The place was spotless. The food was very bland. The husband was friendly. The wife was very rude to her husband. We could hear her yelling at her husband throughout the meal, which made us very uncomfortable.

The food is so flavorful! The place is so clean! The shelves are tidy and full. I had biscuits and gravy that made this Texas girl's mouth happy. Buy the Spicy Jam to take home. You won't regret it. Yes, she can be grumpy but her heart is good and she smiles sweetly. All while making delightful food.

The Breakfast was terrible eggs were over cooked, the ham was lunch meat and the toast tasted like oil not butter.Asked for water never received any and it took forever. It was pretty expensive too.

Stopped in Hessel one afternoon hungry and in need of a few things. Grabbed a quick sandwich which was great and made quickly to order. Even though store is smallish they had all the items I needed. Staff was friendly store and dining area were spotless. Left full and with all needed items!

I have been visiting Hessel and the surrounding areas my whole life. So when I visited for the first time in a few years I was a little disheartened to see the Hessel Grocery had gone away. However I was beyond happy with what has taken roots in its place.

Many bad reviews seem biased. Nice friendly owners and although limited in stock, they had each item we needed. I would not call it a grocery but great selection of beer, okay for wine and great for spirits. Had a terrific Ruben for lunch and service was fast and friendly.

We've had their breakfast sandwiches before so wanted to try again. Muffins are good, egg, cheese good, sausage was very small and unseasoned. Maybe a larger piece of meat to round out the muffin. at $5.50 each, it's not bad. Other food items are very pricey. Very clean place.
