Our first visit for breakfast and it was wonderful.... lots of food. I had the stuffed French toast and could only eat 2 so I have will have tomorrow. The lumberjack (something like that) my husband had and said very good gravy

I worked as a waitress at the Hilltop almost 40 years ago, after I graduated from MTU. It was a good way to meet local people and gain work experience while applying for jobs in my field. My son graduated from MTU in 2013, and after the graduation we toured around the area all day, and when we got back to the motel, it was almost time for the Hilltop Restaurant to close. We were very pleased that the servers told us to come on over and they would stay open for us (party of 8) especially because there are not a lot of other eating choices in the area. We also enjoyed breakfast the next morning before starting our homeward journey. I would love to know if you will share your rye bread recipe. I loved the bread even more than I loved the rolls and donuts back in Judy and Vivian's day!
