Every cocktail I've had here over the years has been fantastic! They are so well developed and balanced. The seasonal cocktail sampler is such a great offering; I have so much fun getting to try four fantastic cocktails, and I come back for the new sampler every season. I also love the relaxed atmosphere. I, for one, am so glad that there aren't tvs. That would ruin the atmosphere, and I don't want to contend with the sports crowds. This is my favorite bar in Lansing!

Cool ambience and good cocktails. The Aged Gin and Barrel Proof whiskey are fantastic. My complaint is that there's no ability to catch a game there. No TV's at all. I was told that owner believes that people don't drink cocktails and watch games. That's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. I, and probably many others, would absolutely go there more often if I could catch a Detroit sports or a Spartan game while I enjoy a great beverage.

Me and my husband sat at the bar, it took 10 minutes for the staff to come back from wherever they were… smelling like weed. I told them to get the people that were waiting to cash out first, all in all it took 25 minutes to order a drink at the bar, the staff were not friendly. Was not busy at all. Ordered a double and didn’t get one, even though we were charged. Won’t be back.

We hosted my sister’s Bridal Shower at American Fifth. It was an amazing event. The space was perfect for our 40 person event. We were allowed to bring in a caterer of our choice. Kate helped us plan a great event and made amazing drinks. Veronica was an attentive and friendly server. All of our guests were so happy. We were able to decorate the space as we pleased. The drinks were amazing. We are so grateful that we were able to host our event here and would 100% recommend them!

Awesome atmosphere, cool building, terrible customer service! I stopped in to check out the penny bar and the cocktails and to meet a friend. Unfortunately, it took forever for me to get a drink and while I was waiting, they asked me about last call. My friend hadn't arrived yet and it was only 10:30 (If been there at least 20 minutes at this point and they close at 11:00 according to the posted hours. The place probably had 5-6 tables of customers as well as at the bar), so I asked if he'd be able to get a drink since he was pretty much there. The answer was that the waitress had already locked the door. Needless to say, I won't be back....
