Awesome place to camp.
I have tent camped here several times, and it is always clean and quiet. It is in a great location, close to Munising. There is easy beach access close to any of the sites. The sites are shady and fairly private, with picnic tables and fire rings.
The dirt drive in and out is terrible.
Beautiful, quiet, and clean campground with mostly secluded campsites. It is a short walk to the Bay Furnace Federal Park and beach. I will definitely stay here again.
This is an awesome quiet campground with a lovely view of the water down by the old Bay Furnace...good rockin'
The bathrooms are very well taken care of for what they are, and have motion sensing lights for nighttime visits. A wide mix of camp sites for big RV's, medium or small groups. The way to the beach and the furnace ruins are just off of the main drive in, before you reach the campsites, and the lawn before the beach has plenty of picnic tables and a few grills set up. The place seems a little busier than a few of the other campgrounds I've seen in the area, but the space between each site is enough to give a good sense of privacy.
Toilets: There are a few flushless bathrooms in each section, and they seemed to be cleaned twice a day and were always well stocked with toilet paper.
Dog-friendliness: Well behaved dogs are welcome.
Picnic area: Each site has a picnic table with one end suited for wheelchair access, and the lawn before the beach has sever similar tables.
Beautiful campground and easy access to a very nice beach area. They had the cleanest pit toilets I had ever been in. Other campers were quiet and respectful. Close enough to Munising for various necessities. The only downside is that it's close enough to the road to hear traffic all day; wasn't as bad a night but got woken up a few times by idiots loudly leaving the Casino on the other side of the road.
Stayed here for 2 weeks in September it was absolutely beautiful very quiet clean Campground loved it spot 27

Incredibly beautiful historic campground right near Munising with lots to do. The hosts were wonderful and kept everything very clean. Unfortunately for the wildlife there was a group of local campers that let their five kids run around with large sticks. One girl smashed a lizard with a rock and the boys were poking their sticks into holes along the shoreline looking for wildlife. Their behavior was not curbed by parents even though one of the hosts said they would talk to them. Hoping this never happens again since many of the chipmunks and squirrels are used to people feeding them.
Restrooms: Very clean vault toilets. No showers. No flush toilets.
Dog-friendliness: Dog friendly. People pick up after your dogs, it’s not your backyard. Be responsible.
Great camping ? and great features. Small beach
Great location. Beautiful view of Lake Superior. Clean outdoor bathroom facility. Sadly….generates are seemingly allowed to run all night. Noise pollution from this and the Hwy was unwelcomed.
Nice sights, great host.
Clean campground. We love the shoreline and seeing the ruins.
