Found this sausage co at the Bank St farmers market a few years ago. Happy they have a store front too. Great product, fresh & flavorful, no fillers like the stuff you find at the grocery. Simple ingredients you know & a variety of flavors to pick from. Around $8/pk, but I don't mind paying a little extra for real, quality food. Our faves are Santana (spicy) & Cherry Bomb (sweet), yum!
I found Chris's shop several years ago and have never looked back! He's hilarious, very very knowledgeable, and a lot of fun to hang out with! Get the Dukes when they come out, right around Father's Day. I have gotten in the habit of checking in with him from June third on! I found a couple of recipes calling for merguez sausage so, I need to pay him a visit pretty soon! I have never gotten a sausage from the place that was not fabulous! Don Ho! Big Lebowski! Santana! Excellent sausages without nitrates or tones of sodium. Right balance between meat and fats. I just got some hotdogs today, oh mamamia! Always a pleasure to shop at the Portage location. Five stars
