Mike and Kyle are the best bartenders up there. The upstairs has great food and environment. The downstairs where the regulars gather and is a fun and relaxing bar. With a limited menu.

Had dinner there last night 9/30/25. Great service and great all you can eat ribs that were so good and such a reasonable price! Beer was cold! Try them. It's worth it!

Lots of heads on the wall. Good crowd, good vibes. Sunfish dinner was DELICIOUS. Au Gratin potatoes and hash browns worth the upcharge.

Nothing else to say except good vibes for the Deerstand ! We drove mtl to Lake Tahoe and Lake Tahoe to Montreal from the 94 north !

We look online for a quick dinner and end up here it was behind our expectation !

for the price of $14.99 on Wednesday we had soup, fresh salad bar and hamburger steaks with smash potatoes it was delicious !
We also took the ribs as second plate !

After one month on the road driving everywhere in the state I guarantee for the food and quality versus the price you don’t see this anywhere else !

Thanks again for the amazing food and service !

Burger patties are unseasoned, it’s incredibly noticeable as the burgers which should taste good, are tasteless. I got the hamdinger expecting flavor town and all I got instead was disappointment.

The prime rib French dip with “sautéed mushrooms and friend onion” — the mushrooms are from a can and again, the taste was not good. The fried onion was few and far between, for a French dip, unacceptable.

First time we’ve tried The Deerstand in a decade, the last time we tried it, it was the same problem. Seems the owner who personally works there everyday isn’t eating the food every day, he probably goes to coaches for his food, where the season their patties.

Kind of an interesting hole in the wall. Small restaurant, very local vibes. You stand out as a tourist.
The food was meh. Edible but not something we would want to go back for. I tried their ribs and I didn't like that they put the barbecue sauce on the side.
Others thought the steak bite appetizer was bland, I thought it was fine. The cheese curds were basically a ball because they were over cooked.
The menu isn't specific about what to expect with each dish, so we asked for specifics on the enchiladas and werent told they use corn and not flour tortillas. They were still eaten.

Kind of a disappointing first night in deerwood for us but, we tried. The food wasn't terrible, it just wasn't good.

Things might move a bit slowly at The Deerstand but the staff is friendly and the food is good and reasonably priced. Their cheese curds are wonderful!

Food was good, service fast and attentive. Our party had the walleye sandwich, sunfish basket, and french dip. Wash it all down with a couple summer shandys and call it a meal!
