We had the delicious drinks, an appetizer, side salad, and two entrees - black cod with harissa potatoes, and chicken curry. Everything was fresh and delicious! It was fun eating out and feeling like you ate healthy food as well! Highly recommend!

Convenient location, nice food, and ok service. Had to ask for a plate for the bread and shells :) A bit price, and FYI they charge EXTRA for using credit cards although prices are on the high end.

We ate at the OCEANS specialty dinner Thursday night. It was the BEST seafood dinner I’ve had! Chef Lars Benson is a talented fellow! Hope to see a couple of those dishes on the summer menu…

Read some reviews and figured our family would give the restaurant a try.Where to start...........The gluten free option for the burger came with plain, white, gluten free bread. Just a typical burger with lettuce, tomatoes, and onion...not a gluten free bun. I was expecting a bit more for a $22 burger. The kids burgers and grilled cheese were fine. All came with soggy, unflavored fries..they were not good. The "market value" steak took forever to get to our table...everyone was about half way finished with their meal once my daughter got her steak....it was plated well but for 40 bucks, I would have expected a more timely served and better cut of meat. It looked like a $12 sirloin. Not even close to a ribeye cut.The drinks were creative and were executed well...I cook a lot and have been to pretty much every restaurant in the Duluth area....this is NOT one I suggest.I'm all about supporting local businesses and paying extra when it's deserved. I don't post reviews EVER, but paying close to $300, I expected so much more. I hope the restaurant turns it around. They definitely have potential too.

By far the best food in Duluth. They have a weird twist on the espresso martini where they do it with cold brew, but it works.Eat everything, it’s all good. The steamed buns for some reason were my favorite and the blueberry crème brûlée was like nothing I’ve ever eaten. Amazing.

Food was scrumptious. The cocktail menu was super interesting with some flavors I've never seen in drinks before, like szechuan sauce and spicy peppers, green tea & herbs, cool stuff. Our server really knew what she was talking about, she had plenty of recommendations for us when we asked. The atmosphere is nice, dim lighting, good colors, just could be updated a little.Vegetarian options: The Hot Cauli Sandwich was amazing, I did not even think about meat while eating it and I am not vegetarian.

Fresh, local and friendly. The seasonal menu is always tasty! We had the “rotating roll”which was a savory biscuit with braised beef, pickled jalapeño and cheddar- absolutely delicious! The pork verde fry bread came in at a close second- to be clear, they were both neck and neck for flavor. Our server was an absolute delight and only added to our wonderful experience.

Our server Jonathan was great. Attentive but not over bearing. We started with the Ridge cocktail(s) and crayfish fritters. Then the salmon salad and steak special. Cool ambiance. Great location...especially to walk over to the Sam Hunt concert.

Lake Ave is my family’s go-to spot when we’re celebrating something or just feeling a little fancy on any particular day. I had the steam buns back in December (celebrating holiday break kick-off) and I haven’t stopped thinking about them since. My family was thrilled to see them on the menu when we visited this past weekend (feeling a little fancy on a Saturday). We’ve been many times — I guess we like to celebrate/feel fancy — and we always leave content. Portions are always just right, presentation is supreme, the service is top notch, and despite some low key fancy vibes, it is very much a “come as you are” type of place.I love the menu changes that are made periodically, as it highlights the creativity of the chef and the Lake Ave team. This is especially true for their vegan options (pot pie is ?, steam buns are dream-worthy). This is a feel-good establishment and I am so glad to have them nearby.

The menu is always interesting. Our food was good, and the drinks were delicious - Tiger Eye and Coquito in particular. Our server was not very engaged. We had to ask her for the details of daily items, ask for silverware, ask about dessert. Just would have liked her to be excited and interested in what might be interesting to us. We think it is special to go to Lake Ave, but this visit was not really that experience.

Amazing staff, delicious food. Our first time here and we will be back! Get the salmon or fowl (or anything I'm sure, but that's what we had and I already want to eat it again).
