Yeah the service was good but the pizza ? Dave Portnoy got scammed the pizza is not very good. I can name five places with better pizza near me. Pizza shark although closed temporarily is ten times better. The pizza was salty, crust taste like a saltine cracker, the toppings are bland and flavorless.

Not a great experience.I ordered a margarita, and it was $13 with their rail tequila. They serve it in a lowball, not worth the price.I saw pictures of their salads online; seeing how small it looked, I asked how many it would serve… the answer? 3-4 people! When it arrived, it was served in a small tin bowl. Which was only enough for one person. $12 for a salad of that size is ridiculous. Then I asked for chicken on the salad, which was an extra $7. It came out on a skewer, and was more like a slice of chicken. I didn’t even finish it, there wasn’t anything special about it. The kitchen also left things on the salad that I had asked to be removed. Our server was nice, but didn’t question my full plate. It was left on the table, unfinished. I felt like I wasted $20 on a head of romaine. They also serve their salads with kalamata olives that still have pits in them. That is such a silly decision, but it’s also easy to fix.The people who got pizza loved it, and really enjoyed it. But if you want to come for anything else, I highly recommend just passing and going somewhere else. There are a lot better places on Eat street to check out, especially with the prices they have decided on.

I went to Black Sheep once in 2021 and absolutely loved it. The pizza was incredible. The crust, the sauce, everything was perfect. When I went there tonight the food was subpar and the service was slow. To be fair, I think they were short-staffed so I can give the server a break. But the pizza was underdone, the sauce was salty, and the cheese was scarce. I don’t know what happened but I hope this was a one-off negative experience.

High energy. LOUD. Pizza is very thin. Crust has a nice cracker-like crunch. 12 inch is shareable. Although, I could have had a little more.

This pizza place was bomb. We called ahead and ordered and it only took them 20 minutes to make this pizza that have lots of pepperonis on. As soon as we walked in we were greeted and our pizza was brought to us which was hot and steamy, it smelled like heaven. When i opened the box i couldn't believe how big it was and how much pepperoni was on it. The crust was perfectly cooked, crispy from the fire and not too greasy. Would definitely come back here!

Grace was really kind and attentive. Good pizza with high-quality ingredients. The crust is thin and cripsy. Top 5 pizza place in Minneapolis. The Caesar salad was nice. The dressing was housemade with anchovies. We will be back. The atmosphere was really loud. However, they had a birthday party with 20 small girls.

Black Sheep used to be one of my favorite restaurants. The downtown St. Paul location was the best and this Nicollet Ave location isn’t bad, regardless if people call Nicollet Eat Street now for some reason. The first time I went to this Nicollet Ave location, we ordered drinks and never saw our waitress again. We counted our losses and left. The second time around was better. Unfortunately, the crust was too burnt on most of the sides though. The pizza crust at the end of a pizza is usually a tasty little prize for finishing a slice. A crusty crescendo of soft, tasty dough. Our pizzas today had crusty, crispy, black crust that went uneaten. Kidding of course, I’ll eat anything! But, whoever was working the ovens must’ve been new or something. A twenty dollar pizza should be baked with a little more care. It was also unfortunate that the side of sauce was so expensive and it was less than half full. But, most of the pizza was still delicious. I love me some oven fired ‘za. Black Sheep is worth a try, but only to cement the fact that Punch is better, cheaper, faster, and doesn’t make up street names on already famous avenues.
The mushroom pizza had no flavor, and the lemon goat cheese pizza with basil was bland as well. Way overpriced for pizza that did not taste good. These two pizzas could have potential if there was more flavor incorporated.

I think the best pizza place in the twin cities. The crust is exceptional and the distinguishing feature. Sauce is great and the toppings are thoughtful, you won't see 7 ingredients competing for attention; there's nothing for this pizza to hide behind because it doesn't need to. The salami one and the meatball one are standouts to me.

Delicious pizza, they have there recommended selections however, if you'd like a traditional pepperoni with extra cheese boom they can hook that up too.

This specific Black Sheep is not my favorite. When I initially went it was just out of convenience because it was close even though I had heard that the one that is downtown is better.. still came here. It was kind of frustrating because it felt like they were out of everything. I ordered one of the mocktails and our server said that they did not have any of the ingredients. Ok, fine. Then, we ordered a pizza and asked for extra sauce on the side.. well, the sauce came, however, it was COLD like it had just come from the fridge. Not cool. We should not have to ask for hot pizza sauce with a hot pizza. The pizza itself was not bad but again.. it pales in comparison to the downtown location. Don't need to come to this one again.

I had a glass of prosecco and my husband had coffee. We ordered a 16-inch #9 pizza with fresh tomato, green pepper, and kakamata olives. It arrived right from the oven. It was delicious. The crust was crisp, just the way we liked. Our waitperson was friendly and very attentive. We enjoyed our dinner here.
