We had no plans on going here but I'm sure glad we did! We were walking around looking to grab a quick dinner before a concert and stumbled upon The Freehouse. I noticed first that the outside ambiance was quite dreamy. It was a gorgeous night so we sat outside. Our waitress was kind and quirky, loved her! I got the half rotisserie chicken (accidently gave me a whole chicken, but allowed me to pay for just the half I actually ordered) with mashed potatoes, corn, and slaw. First off I was very worried with the size of the chicken and if it would be done enough but it was cooked to perfection. Juicy, moist, flavorful and SEASONED! Delicious!! It also came with a sauce that was olive green in color. Initially I was worrird but surprisingly it tasted like a yummy warm good Ole gravy! I could drink it! The potatoes were also a hit, soooo good and buttery. The slaw and the corn weren't amazing but not bad either. My company got the chicken lime salad. Said it was GOOD but may not get it again. Overall the experience was 10/10. I haven't stopped thinking about the chicken, potatoes and gravy since! Can't wait to go again!

Very cool space in a converted warehouse district in town. Food was great. Service was very attentive. I had lunch here, I wish I could have sampled some of their beer options. Next time!!

Great place for a casual meal and drinks any time of the week. The service is usually quick and accommodating. I’ve been coming here for years and even order take-out on occasion. Not a single issue I can recall.

While the food was good, and I still tipped appropriately our server had a lot to be desired..attitude soon as we sat. First impressions are lasting.

Worst service ever!!
This was my first visit and it will be my last.
We were seated right away, which was not surprising since they were not very busy.
Once we were seated, our waiter greeted us about 10mn later, he was pleasant enough. He took our orders and left. I ordered coffee, my husband a red beer and we both asked for water. The waters and beer came pretty quickly but after about 15mn I still did not have my coffee and we couldn't flag anyone down and had not seen our waiter in quite some time.
My husband finally went to the bar to get me a cup of coffee and in the meantime my coffee was brought out with our food. A food runner dropped the food off and walked away, she did not ask if we needed anything else and for the next 10mn not one employee stopped to ask if we needed anything. It is also notable that there was a table of about 8 behind us that had 3 servers who were very attentive to that group but again we could not flag them down for help.
When the waiter finally came to our table my husband was done with his meal except for the hash browns that came with because we were never given ketchup. The waiter asked if he wanted his hash browns boxed up and my husband said no, I prefer them hot with ketchup but no one has checked on us at all. The waiter did offer to remake them and apologized, but we declined and just wanted to leave.
The food was OK, mine was cool and it was very over priced. That combined with horrible service made this one of the most unpleasant dining experiences I have ever had.

Loved our dinner! Atmosphere was on point, we sat on the patio, under the trees. Steak and pierogies, meat was tender, great way to serve a potato side. Cauliflower Za'atar with beet and mustard sauce (delish!) and side salad of arugula, pears, grapes, and citrus dressing. Yummy!
We will be back!

We came here as part of a large group. The service was very good, which is usually a challenge for large groups. And the atmosphere us great as well. The place is quite spacious. The food was good, not great. Same with the beer. I’d prefer to give it a try again with a smaller group.

Although we did have some problems with our food and how long we waited, when we talked to the manager Rachel she was more than accommodating. And the portions are huge.
