Special place, I wish he could cook for me every night. The care and nuance of this talented chef is rare these days. Wine menu is highly curated and set up for inquisitive vinofiles who enjoy tasting something different.

Dinner was magical! This was our first visit. Heather (serving that day), Calvin (helped us pick the wine), and of course Erik, helped make it all perfect! Looking forward to our next time there.

Everyone was so nice and accommodating. The chef did a superb job in our food and we were able to relax and never felt rushed! It was wonderful!
Dietary restrictions: They are very conscientious about people’s dietary needs.
Parking: We had no problem and parking was covered.

Right along the lake, great service. Chef Erik slays his tasting menu every-time we go. The wine menu look carefully curated, and it tastes to match. We’ve come for celebrations, and we’ll continue to visit as often as we can.

First time here and all four of us thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Wonderful flavors and fun menu options (menu changes regularly) It’s a one-price menu which I’m not a fan of (wouldn’t have ordered dessert) and a bit spendy to frequent very often. Service was amazing and friendly and food excellent. Would recommend
Our server Calvin was great! Recommended wonderful wines to pair with our meal. The wild rice dish was *exquisite* and I easily could have had several more serving of it.

The most exquisite, yet enjoyable experience imaginable!!! OMG!! Such great food, great wine pairing- yet not at all snobby! So comfortable and so wonderful!! Do this!!
Highly recommend. Excellent food, even better service. Fantastic Chef!! He came out after the meal to talk to my son, who us 4. Such a special moment for him.
Delicious, expertly-crafted menu including a brilliant wine recommendation (don’t sleep on the Slovenians). Chef Erik seems to visit every table, which is a particularly nice touch. Well worth the “journey” from the Twin Cities. Definitely don’t skip the cheese course.
We dined here this past Saturday and felt underwhelmed. The service was good, but the routine of the dinner doesn't require much service. You order a drink, then you order your three courses all at once, then you are served a course at a time. This style of service doesn't require an attentive staff.I should've looked prior to booking, but liquor/cocktails are not available for beverage options; they have beer and wine available. We were expecting a nice craft cocktail menu to pair with the meal. However, we were served a nice bottle of wine according to our taste/request for a dry red.The menu requires an explanation which seems a bit pretentious. The courses are small and left us questioning if we wanted to stop somewhere else for another bite to eat. As a couple, we usually share an appetizer and share an entree; we both had our own appetizer and our own entree. My husband had the trout and I had the beef. The trout was meek in flavor. The beef was flavorful. Both desserts were good.It was our first experience at Vann and with the cost being around $300 w/tip and lack luster experience, it won't be high on our lists to try again. I really appreciate the possibility of this restaurant, but think there is room for improvement.

This is the perfect place to go for date night. The food is amazing every time. The wine selection is fantastic. And the service is even better than both of those.
My wife and I went to Vann’s to try a new place, and due to its amazing reviews. All comments made based on comparisons to similarly priced restaurants in the metro. We thought the restaurant itself is in an excellent location right across the street from the water. The server gave really great service and was very knowledgeable. The food was fairly underwhelming for the price (270 after tip, 2 beers, 2 n/a beverages) in comparison to similarly priced places across the Metro. The Octopus was very good, probably best dish we had. The sushi rice dish was light in flavor, although had a nice texture. The sea bass dish was average, again light in flavor, and surprisingly fishy. The mushroom dish was probably the only thing truly unique / new to us (Morel mushrooms), and was very good. Only 2 small food courses (per person) before dessert - which is why we ordered the cheese plate. The deserts were average to above average.Overall, the experience was definitely nice, but lacked a uniqueness and “wow-factor” that I would expect at this price point, not to mention the extremely low quantity (which would be fine if it had exceptional quality).
Cal, our waiter, carefully and patiently explained the food menu and our wine options. He was very interesting to listen to. He seemed very knowledgeable and helpful. The food lived up to the reputation of the restaurant. A very pleasant dining experience. My wife and I ordered different items from the menu so we could taste a wider variety of the delicious food made in such a creative and artistic way.
Pleasant atmosphere and great food! We had been wanting to try it out for a while and finally did for our anniversary last weekend. I liked the cozy setting and generous space from other tables. The smoked Sturgeon and Veloute were amazing! If they are on the menu - get them. My husband didn't get as much of a horseradish flavor on the venison as he was hoping, but it was melt in your mouth texture and juicy. Dessert was lovely. Highly recommend!
Absolutely stunning dinner experience. It's a must-go. Wonderful service, creative food, bold flavors. Their three course tasting menu has a strong point-of-view. Wonderful wine options that stray from the usual suspects. I was blown away.
Vegetarian options: Each course has a veg option.
Parking: Pretty large lot available in the evenings, right off the street.
Wheelchair accessibility: I don't believe there were any steps to get in to the restaurant. Getting to the bathroom might be tight but it's entirely flat.
