We used to have Shoney's in Kansas City so I always try to visit when I see one. This one is horrible. I should have turned around and walked away when my feet were sticking to the floor and we went first thing in the morning. Second time I should have walked out was getting seated at a dirty table. There was something sticky and dirty all over the table. Third time was walking up to the breakfast buffet and literally 30% of the buffet was salad stuff. The lettuce was wilted and brown. There wasn't much of a selection of actual breakfast food. The bacon was burnt, the sausage looked gross, the French toast triangles were nasty, the ham while soaked in water was edible, the eggs were also sitting in water so I didn't even attempt to try that. We spent $127 on 6 buffets and left hungry. I ended up throwing up the 2 tiny pieces of ham I was able to swallow. The suckers at the front desk were the only things we actually enjoyed.

We were promptly greeted and seated. The server came over once we visited the buffet and began putting our check together and which was odd but then she stood there...hovering over our table watching us eat. .uncomfortable. we asked for a to go cup for coffee and she wanted to charge us for it. Then she kicked my family member twice who told her the first time that she hurt her foot. Will not be visiting this establishment again.

Blah, terrible buffet ?3/22/24 I told my husband I would never come back to this place. Today with the family I said ok and was prepared not to eat. The parking lot was packed, which was unusual. When we went in of course it was packed. I went and took a sneak peak at the buffet, to my surprise it looked wonderful. I went ahead and gave it a try, it was absolutely amazing and delicious. Staffing was short handed like everywhere else, but our server she was very nice and did us well.I do not know what they did to step it up, but they did a great job.

This place is a great breakfast bar and we have always had great service the people are awesome, but we were here about 6 months ago and again today and the sewer smell will take your breath when you walk in! Once I get it things happen they could be waiting on a plumber but twice 6 months apart is unacceptable! I said something to the lady at the check out and she was like it’s been that way forever we have had numerous plumbers and all they do is take our money and never fix the issue!

I can’t say anything on the food or atmosphere. But the service was awful. We walked in and stood there for a very long time. When we look around the corner the services were just talking. No one said oh well be right with you or anything like that. Then when they finished talking one of the servers walked by us made eye contact and then walked away. It was very unprofessional and disrespectful. We were so excited and having a good day. It sucks this happened because we loved shoneys. But it’s safe to say we won’t be going back anytime soon. Hopefully it changes in the future.

SHAME ON SHONEYS for allowing their restaurant to deteriorate so badly. The atmosphere is so disgusting That it makes it hard to maintain an appetite. Restore your restaurant Shoney’s. Do better. I recommend no one ever eat at this Shoney’s ever again! Grand Country Buffet across the street is updated, clean, cheaper than Shoney’s and the food is better.
