I've been here twice now and absolutely love Vivilore! The staff are so friendly, the service is outstanding, the place is beautiful and unique, but the food... the food is mind blowing!!! Delicious, fresh, beautiful presentation...I love eating here!

The best place to celebrate our anniversary! Most incredible garden you have ever seen. The food is some of the best we have ever had. And the staff went above and beyond. You must go!! Can’t wait for our next visit

We had heard good things about this place and actually drove from Southern Johnson County. What a disappointment! The ambiance is beautiful, reminding us of Webster House. The food is just average, pricing is ridiculous. Our server was the worst! She took our order which was sandwiches. She asked, "Do you want to add on a side with that?" We all responded no thinking the sandwiches were expensive enough. Sides are included! My friends ordered the lobster rolls which were priced at $22 on the menu. Sandwiches were average but then our bill came. My friends were charged $27!!! One questioned the bill saying the menu listed it at $22. Our waitress's response? "My bad. Costco increased their charge for lobster a couple of weeks ago and we just haven't changed our menu and I forgot to tell you." Really unacceptable. If the price was increased 2 weeks ago, that is plenty of time to change the menu. And if the waitress forgot to tell us, that's her issue and we should have had the lower price. Not sure we will ever make the trip back. Too many other good places out there.

I love eating here! The food is always delicious! Service is spectacular and the atmosphere takes you to a small European bistro. Must try for brunch or romantic dinner. Beautiful outdoor patio. Romantic and sensuous indoor seating with opulent decor. Don’t miss this hidden gem.

I now live in California but I visit this place EVERY year when I come back to KCMO area! If you want to be treated like royalty, this is the place for you! The food, adult beverages, desserts, service, ambiance, outside patio dining, top two floors of museum-quality merchandise for sale and the delightful staff makes this place a well-kept secret! I delight in taking my 'about town' friends here and enjoy their surprise at my finding a place that they don't know! Treat Yourself to Affordable Luxury! Oh! There's tiny chairs at each table for the lady's purse! ♥️

What a magnificent treat. This hidden gem was not only a beautiful dining experience but the courtyard dining area was amazing. Great food, great service and nicest outdoor dining in Kansas City area. We tried about everything on the menu and loved it all.

Wonderful! You would not expect this wonderful a restaurant, with such a skilled chef, in such an out of the way location. The food is second to none! The Spinach salad is amazing!!

Vivilore will take you to a place few culinary establishments can. The luxurious gardens are as beautiful as the food is incredible. One can sit inside or out and when that’s been explored the upper floors are filled with a variety of art from tchotchkes to framed oil originals. I had the lamb, my friends the orange roughy and chopped salad. ??? our appetizer mushroom cheesecake although sounding odd is not… we ate every bit. A must for those that enjoy fine dinning.

Unfortunately, I think this wonderful restaurant has suffered post pandemic. Before the pandemic, this was a show place to eat and look around at the art ware and paintings and plants (though some places were locked off) adorning the property. It still is, but something happened. The food was still good this time, but not great from my memories of yesteryear. Same with the things that are open to purchase in the building. What I remember as a classy renaissance and modern art atmosphere has morphed into, as a visiting family member stated, "a flea market gone to hell." I think his remark was a bit of an exaggeration, but the spirit of it, again unfortunately, fits. I still adore the owners and think highly of them in trying to resurrect this older section of Independence by their own cultural addition and spirit to the neighborhood. I wish them only the best, but I do miss the pre-pandemic experience!
