My Bob wasabi is coming a bit after I ate at their location last because I wanted to try some more sushi places first. I'm trying to improve my reviews to make them a bit more fun and filled with additional information. Bob Wasabi has authentic wasabi which is very different than the fake wasabi you'll get with your grocery market and gas station sushi. In fact, a few expensive sushi places in rural areas also use this false wasabi. True Wasabi is a much better experience and amazing. The sushi itself is pricey, but you do get what you pay for. When you pay that premium price you expect to be amazed and I was. Compared to a lot of the places I tried since I couldn't believe the difference in freshness and texture of the fish used here. I have a deep appreciation for the craft of sushi making and this place does also.

You can not experience any better sushi or nagari in Kansas city. Bob's Wasabi is the pinnacle experience locally. The price you pay will be represented to you with upmost care and experience. I will always use Bob's as a place to compare all others to his standards of top shelf quality. Thank you Bob and his incredible staff of the consistent experience.

This place is by far the best sushi in KC. Highly recommend Rainbow Roll. Hamachi Roll is also great for people who don't love the raw fish vibe. Really can't go wrong. No reservations, so be prepared to wait ~30 minutes on a busy night (this is for old Westport location, crossing my fingers this place doesn't change with the location change). Can catch Bob behind the kitchen cheffing up the best.

I lived on the West coast for 6 years and have never had better sushi. The care and practice Bob and everyone here puts into their fish shines, and I will be counting the days until they open their new location. Screw whatever landlord that doesn't realize what a gem they had going for them.Hands down the best sushi you could ever have in the Midwest

Heard they would be closing in May, thought I better check it out. Had to wait about 20 minutes for a table due to limited seating capacity. The sushi was good but I felt a little over priced. It was fresh and tasty. We had the avocado roll, spicy tuna roll ( not spicy) and Tiger roll. As far as Covid precautions, tables were spaced and mask wearing was enforced.

Had to try before they search for a new place! Worth the hype!!! There was quite a line on a Friday night and safety precautions & masks required. Everything was made to order and fresh. I also had a house salad. Can't wait to see where they reopen and WE will definitely be going there!

This is hands down one of my favorite places in KC, and definitely the best sushi around. Bob is very picky about the fish and makes sure it's super fresh (the idea that we can't get fresh fish in a landlocked state is false, the what is being eaten at Bob Wasabi is the same fish being flown into Nobu in NYC). I've never had something bad here. My favorite is the unagi mango roll, but you absolutely can't go wrong. Everyone here is so nice and the overall experience is great every time.

I waited in line to be seated at the sushi counter to order an avocado roll and fried gyoza. LMFAO. I still appreciated how fresh everything was even if I am allergic to shellfish and don't eat seafood. I know how to be one with ...ish. However, the avocado rolls were nice, fresh, and creamy; I had to order ANOTHA ONE (in my DJ Khalid voice)....LOL. Mind you this was supposed to be my appetizer meal then I was going to head somewhere else for the main course. Oh boi.

So sad that @bobwasabikitchen is moving in May 8th. crossed they fine a new location. I want them to move to the old Nara location so I can to get my sushi fix. We had all the things tonight. Everything was great and the fish was so fresh. Favorites were the Caterpillar roll and the rainbow roll. We also did the 5 & 6 pieces where the chef picks items for you!

Friendly staff and great food. Not much else to say but if you haven’t been there then go, then go again. Delicious!

Tasty but overpriced. Cost me $38 for 2 specialty rolls. Ordered the TNT roll and the Hawaiian. Out of the two I think I have to go Hawaiian as the TNT was almost too much. That said they truly were both delicious and you can't go wrong. Unrelated to the food, i really hate how they use styrofoam. As someone who is cognizant of their waste I was not happy to have my food served this way. Please do better. Also, note they do not accept American Express..

I would like to first off by saying I am super picky about sushi my mother being from Japan and a former Sushi chef I have learned quality.. here are the best things about this restaurant . 1. Fresh 2. Reminds me of my mom's sushi 3. Small menu 4. Great service 5. They have TORO! (I forgot to ask if they have uni while there darn!) Cons: 1. Limited seating (covid of course) 2. They forgot my edamame( which was fine we were full after lunch) 3. If you want something from the kitchen this is not the place to go ( i didn't want hot food, I am into the mostly sushi vibe) I only state cons because, I am not from here and it might be helpful for out of towners. The cons were of no issue to me because, the food and service were mostly wonderful !
