First time attempting to eat at El Pulgarcito was a bust the manager turned us around because he didn't have a staff that day. My second time trying the place was just average. I'll give them 3 starts for getting me in and out but I was not impressed.

Everything I have had from this restaurant has been incredible! Recently, I have ordered a large amount of their pupusas for our staff meetings (which have been a hit with the staff in the meetings as well as anyone who walks through the breakroom to get leftovers). Unfortunately today, my most recent order was stolen by the delivery service driver, and when I called the restaurant to confirm, the staff member who answered the phone was so kind and helped me figure out my next steps. I have placed a claim with the delivery service, and we will both be receiving refunds. I am so happy that this business won't lose out on their sale, and am looking forward to continuing to support this business!

My daughter and I were staying in a hotel nearby and decided to order delivery. The food arrived on time, and was delicious! Will definitely eat here again next time we are in town.

Honestly quite impressed! Had three tacos and a papusa. Good stuff and affordable

Totally delicious, affordable food and very friendly staff. The lengua (ordered on street tacos) was perfectly cooked, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The spicy habanero salsa is perfect for heat lovers like me. The birria tacos were also very filling and felt like eating a homecooked meal. The highlight of the menu is, of course, the pupusas, which are indescribably wonderful. We need more restaurants like this downtown!

Hole in the wall location but great street tacos!

Everything was fresh and so tasty! This made my long tax office wait bearable. Papusas and plantain ?

Friendly staff and a clean dining area. Note food is cooked when you order so your getting everything fresh which adds a noticeable amount of time if your lunch time is limited. I had the taco's which were 'ok', I wouldn't order them again though, very very lean on the shredded cheese, meat very dry and the corn tortilla just wasn't good. . The sauce has a zing to it so for me a little went a long way. Value, was good for the portion received. Maybe the next visit I'll try the enchiladas.

LOVE THIS PLACE. my boyfriend referred this to me as we both just moved downtown. so yummy. so authentic. a must have authentic taco place in kcmo, would rather go here than torchys. we walked out with two bags and decided to get daiquiris as well at kc daiquri shop. perfect pair.

El Pulgarcito Express is the 3rd space in KC to share the Pulgarcito name following the original in Merriam, Truman Rd at Jackson and now across the street from city hall. I've always considered their pupusas as the best in town and the one that I had today did not sway my opinion. Plump, with hot melty cheese and spinach, grilled perfectly and topped with tangy curtido and a splash of salsa. It was a wonderful reminder that the national dish of El Salvador is way better than all of its Central American neighbor's national dishes. You heard that right Honduras, better luck next time Nicaragua, Panama - you're not even in the top 5.... As good as the pupusa was, it wasn't even the star of my lunch meal! How could that be you ask??? Well I saw their FB page and they are currently featuring an off menu item - Quesaberria tacos! Yep; the hottest trend of 2021 and my newest crave. I'm telling you, the hype is real. I advise getting on the bandwagon now if you haven't had any because I predict that by 2022 there will be McQuesabirrias and Quesaberria valu-paks at Taco Bell and by then the magic will be diluted and do you really want that one certain brother-in-law telling you about the new exotic taco dish at Applebee's before you've tried the real thing? I didn't think so. Just like the pupusa, the taco was cheesy and grilled to perfection, but with sautéed juicy lamb meat inside and a cup of consommé with onion and cilantro for dipping (or slurping when finished). OH YEAH! The space has about 4 tables spaced appropriately and parking could be tricky if you are driving in. I parked at a meter around the block for 50 cents for 30 minutes. The term Express is a bit misleading, since it took about 15 mins to receive my order. No problem since they cook upon request and the time it takes is worth the end result, just don't expect "express" service. Pupusas and Quesaberria in one meal - it doesn't get better than this!
