I stopped in after visiting a few galleries at The Nelson Atkins and had a quick, enjoyable latte. The cafe area has a nice view of the north side of the museum and plaza park space. The coffee is good. If you are in need of a quick cup while visiting the museum, stop in!

Coffee shop prices for coffee quality I could just about make at home. Being in the art gallery is a plus but if it was not for that Thou Mayest is not a coffee shop I'd frequent.

Hands down my favorite coffee in Kansas City. The baristas are always so nice to chats with, and coffee connected to an Art Museum is impossible to beat.

I don’t know that I’d come all the way here just for the coffee. But if you’re in the Nelson anyway, this is definitely worth a stop.I showed up early to beat the crowds and get some caffeine before strolling some of my favorite spots in the museum. The chai tasted great and was served at just the right temperature. The barista was polite and efficient. Seating was comfortable and quiet (though I’m guessing it might get noisy later in the day).I’ll definitely do this again on future visits.

Delicious coffee , very refreshing ! Got the chai latte! Staff/service was quick and nice. Quiet ambiance, area for sitting at tables to study or sit and relax and enjoy your coffee before or after the museum

Highly recommend the drip coffee! Both Smooth Operator and Wild Child were available, and I thoroughly enjoyed a cup (12 oz., although I probably only need the 8 oz.) of the bright, light roast of Wild Child before seeing museum exhibits.

They interact as little as possible with you and the guy pounding metal against metal to get the old espresso out does it with reckless abandon to create quite a jarring experience. Enjoy! :0

Great service, the barista was very enthusiastic and friendly. He had great recommendations for the folks ahead of me and very open to making customizations. My macchiato was very smooth with a nice touch of bitterness and packed a good caffeine punch. The menu was very elaborate with several house made cold and hot beverages including a assortment of high quality snacks and chocolates.

Good drinks, but food in places like these is always pretty expensive.
