Drunken Fish - Westport Plaza

After a day of traveling we didn't feel like driving too far from our hotel. We decided on going to the Westport Plaza and try Drunken Fish ..a sushi/Japanese restaurant.

We were seated immediately. Their menu is extensive offering a variety of sushi rolls and Japanese entrees.

My wife started with the Miso soup that she liked very much.

We each had a roll..she had the Veggie Roll since she is gluten free and I had a Philly roll. The tolls are smaller than we normally get but loaded with flavor.

This is their original location and its time for a makeover. They have 2 locations in the St Louis area and 1 in Edwardsville.

For fresh sushi and good tasting Japanese food,Drunken Fish is a solid choice.

Joann is amazing! She recommended the torched salmon roll, jalapeño chilli sauce, chocolate heaven and the teriyaki chicken nachos. She was so personable. She made us feel amazing. She even allowed me to use her hotspot because I didn’t have service! Joann is 100/10, highly recommend and I will come back again and again.

Took over 30 minutes to get food for a table of 4 with less than 10 other tables. Appetizers came out after entries.

Drinks did not match descriptions. Service was slow and food was nothing special.

Will not be returning or recommending to anyone.

We got the opportunity to visit Drunken fish and it was awesome. Great food, atmosphere, and service by Alyeria made it a perfect experience.

Joann and brook work so well together I can't believe it was her first day. She was so knowledgeable about the menu. Our food was so amazing thank you ladies. My son loved his birthday cake.

So I walked in like the sign says a guy says hi. And that was it. Taken back I said hi, umm who do I see for a seat? He say say oh that's me. Then says just sit there and someone will be with you. Gesturing to a small table. Now this was over 10ft away and I had no menu. Well after I waited 5 mins at the table NOBODY greeted me. This is my biggest pet peeve! Not a good start. I had to resort to Google for a menu. Well I got fed up and was hungry. So I got up and went to the bar. Well she was cashing out a guy and I sat to his left since the only spot available. Well the bartender walked away when she was done and completely ignored me. Then after 3-4 mins of sitting there she said ill be with you while she was making a drink. Took care of another customer then came over. I put in my order and asked for a water. I got a water with a dead fruit fly in it. Then i got a second water with a crack it it at the top of the glass. Lovely. I got one of my roll 15-20 mins later. It was shrimp tempura. It was barely warm. For a fried roll I have never had one at a restaurant then didn't come out too hot to eat right away. I got half way and the rest was cool. We shall see my next one comes out because it's fried...

Well 45 mins later I received my second roll. My fried Philly roll. Hot! Nice and hot. But it got super fishy tasting. Gross. Well I asked for low sodium soy sauce. Then I added wasabi, and it tasted better. So maybe I just masked the fishy taste but I couldn't handle that. I got 5 small pieces of shrimp tempura for $11.5 yet there was an app for $7. I couldn't believe how little it was at that price. It's not that great so go elsewhere.

Thoroughly enjoyed date night at the Drunken Fish! The atmosphere is always a fairly chill vibe and the menu had amazing, new additions, as well as the old faithfuls. When in doubt, Joann was able to suggest a variety of options from appetizers to drinks! The girl REALLY knows her stuff and was a complete joy as our server! Will most definitely return and hope to see her there

Food and atmosphere were great and our server Joann was awesome- so friendly and attentive! Great service can be touch and go in St. Louis but Joann’s passion for hospitality shows. Will def return!
