The prices are very good, but the food was average at best. A couple slices of white bread and whipped spread along with store-bought potato salad is an education of the quality. My lemon pepper catfish was not very lemony and was overcooked. My wife's jack salmon special had a very fishy taste and she couldn't eat it. We could have said something, but we were with other people.

Food was mediocre, a little bit of discrimination, and I left there feeling pretty negatively. I was nothing but polite the whole time and was there with two close friends. We had an all right time though

My husband and I both had fish. I had the cod and he had catfish. My cod was so dry I couldn't chew it and the catfish was below average. I won't go back!Food: 1/5

Great little spot outside Perryville. Had the fried chicken and it was tasty! Don’t forget to have a slice of pie also, I’d drive back just for that!

Super disappointed. Traveling in Illinois and came off our route to eat here because of all the great reviews. Hours listed open till 8:30. Got here at 3:00 and they closed at 2:00.

Al's is a nice no frills restaurant. The best food ever.

Home country cooking at its best. Ordered Denver omelet with fried potatoes and gravy. Wife ordered a slimmer meal. Great coffee, they never let the cup get empty. Rustic atmosphere and great prices. Check them out on the web or Facebook. Cost under $21 for both including $5 tip.

This is definitely a small town restaurant, and it is always full at lunch time. People are meeting their friends, family, and co-workers to catch up over a good meal. The food is excellent, the prices are quite reasonable, and the service is prompt. It just has a comfortable, homey feel with no one rushing in and out. The customers and the staff are friendly and welcoming. It has been there a long time, and it has not changed. They only take cash because there is no internet service. Go and anjoy.
