Closed. Hopefully temporary. Best breakfast in town. Small place on Cherokee. Friendly. Unique food items.

Friendly staff! Great atmosphere! Awesome food! We ordered the Fried Chicken Boagie and the Slinger (with gravy). It was a great breakfast experience and we will definitely be back!

Oh man, I wanted to try everything on the menu. Great food, great ambience, and really cool owners and employees. A real find.

My wife and I had a good breakfast here. Kind of a hole in the wall place with a lot of character and the food was very good. There was even a galaga arcade!

Excellent food, efficient service despite the crowd. Decor is decidedly quirky but features repurposed wood for tables and the bar.

Found this quaint small capacity (20) diner for breakfast. This is what they are good at.... breakfast.... Because that is what they do. Had the special and it was great because the vegetables were fresh from the garden. Johnny Cakes are moist and fluffy. Will come here for breakfast again. Come early as the seats fill up right away.

First of all, no. Never again and I played myself. I got the slinger. The food here was disappointing asf. It tasted like "home on the range" it tasted like "manifest destiny" it tasted like gentrification gone bad. I'm glad I'm here to tell the story. I just want to know who cooked the "chili" because count your days. Disgusting, I chewed beans. The beans were hard as nails. I've never chewed chili beans in my life. Or just beans period. It made me wonder if those people who cooked the food actually live here. It was the only logical explanation I could think of. They couldn't possible be from STL because we know that slinger chili is made from either canned chilli or authentic chili. Not gentrified black and white beans. I was mortified. The potatoes were soggy, and that "homemade sausage" patty, I'm sitting in my car shaking my head in utter sadness. It's maddening that they would have the audacity to cook like this is a neighborhood that's known for its beans, rice, huevos, and potatoes. I give it -3 stars on a scale of anger to complete sadness. I shall now take my antidepressant. I can't comprehend what I ate. I was starving, I ate the egg, the hard azz sausage patty and most of what I could find of the potatoes that were swimming in juice from the undercooked beans. I tried my best to dodge every bean in that bowl, I had to chew a few times though, and each bite I punched the air. It's a no. Hated it.

FYI this place is very small and there is a small menu. I got the basic egg sandwich and it was good but it was American cheese in the scramble egg and the bread was pretty greasy. This was also served with hash brown patty that you could get from Trader Joe's. The coffee and service as well as area was well kept. I would not go back here but I would recommend this to those who eat meat.

Such a great place!!! My friend recommended this place, and my family and I stumbled upon it driving down Cherokee. We were immediately greeted and seated upon arrival. All of the servers were super friendly and accommodating. The food and service were both fast and excellent! A new favorite for sure, we will definitely be back!

You better get the fried chicken hoagie you won't regret it.!! Must try and if you order takeout DONT worry about the wait.!! You get everything fresh...except you can definitely skip the hashbrown and go to McDonald's. Did I mention it's farm fresh eggs.

We've eaten here 4 times and every time the food was delicious! The chicken is by far the best and the Jonny cakes are fluffy and tasty. Servers are friendly and efficient. Look forward to going back next visit to StLouis.

Loved the atmosphere and friendly staff! A very tiny place that seemed to be buzzing with people. We were there Saturday morning for breakfast! We had some biscuits and gravy, which weren’t our favorite, but not terrible. I had bacon and eggs and pancakes. The bacon was decent but the eggs could have been mixed more before scrambling them. The pancakes had a weird taste and color. Didn’t much care for them. My husband had bacon, eggs, hash brown and toast. He said it was just ok. Probably not a bad place to eat once…decide for yourself!!

Love this little place on Cherokee. Just happened to come across it a few months ago and have been back many times since. The staff is super friendly and the menu, while limited, is all high quality and delicious. You might want to get there early because when the food is gone, it’s gone. I personally love their take on the Slinger. Lots of flavor, not just a hot mess. If you are looking for a new place for breakfast or brunch that’s really down to earth, you can’t go wrong here.

Working to find a place for breakfast when I landed I happened upon this place. Wasn't 'sure' with diner in the name. I love diners but the typically have the save foods. The pics and menu sounded good and different. Also looked small which can be a positive so gave it a whirl. Delicious! The fried chicken spicy is a must. It is an amazing blend of spices and good kick. The pancakes were nice and fluffy. The loaf for the chicken boagie was so soft and fresh. The gravy is a ham gravy and not as thick as the NC gravy I'm used too, but very good. Very soon they will have their license so they can serve Mimosas. Highly recommend!
