Went up the mountain in a deuce and a half at the end of the summer season. Great ride followed by amazing food! The tenderloin is absolutely phenomenal and the sides were equally as delicious. Great overall experience and food and would highly recommend!

Can I give more than 5 stars? Every aspect of this experience was outstanding not to mention the over the top hospitality shown to everyone involved. We will definitely do this again next time we're in Big

This is the most amazing experience I have had so far in Big Sky! The adventure started on a snow cat up the mountain to a yurt. Hot French Onion Soup was waiting for us. The main course was tender and juicy, you could cut with a fork! My sin said best Birthday gift!!

The Montana Dinner Yurt is a unique and unforgettable experience. The food is amazing, the staff is fun, friendly and attentive to our needs. Skylar is always so accommodating. The musicians always have us dancing by the end of the night. The views are spectacular and the atmosphere is really something special. If you haven’t planned a night here on your next trip, you are missing out.

It’s my 60’th birthday in 48 hours. I wanted to celebrate by skiing at Big Sky. I made reservations here 3 months ago for my birthday dinner. They just ousted me for a party for the maintenance and lift operators party. Those guys definitely deserve a party, but I should have been given a bit more lead time to make alternative plans. I just wanted to have a fun birthday. Now I have nothing except the booze I bought because the place is byob.
Parking: Ski resort ample parking
Kid-friendliness: Kids option hamburger or chicken tenders

The Montana Dinner Yurt was an awesome experience! I don't know how people could leave negative reviews. They must have a negative picky life. We did the Yurt on Jan 8th and Skyler and crew did an awesome job. The other groups with us seemed to have a great time too. Not many people get to experience something like this and we enjoyed every minute of it. The food was delicious! The guy playing the guitar was perfect! The atmosphere was therapeutic with the candle light and fire pit. Skyler and crew were always walking around making sure everyone had what they needed. Money buys nice things and I highly recommend the Montana Dinner Yurt for a very unique dinner.

I'd give it a 1-star but I'd feel awful - it's not the worst but the yurt is not what it's billed to be. Taking the cat was interesting and being able to ride on top as an option was unique. Everything else was dime store for $230/per person (plus tip) and an awful value.Waiters are dressed to shovel your driveway (or drive the cat in this instance) not serve food.Somehow they make 3 courses last 3+ hours. Mediocre french onion soup when you arrive coupled with grocery store bread loaf. Then a 45 minute break to either sled down a dark, unlit road or sit around a single fire pit with only 7 chairs. Next course is family style mash potatoes, roasted zucchini and sliced tenderloin. It's not plated service?? Literally bowls of skin-on mashed spuds and roasted, quartered and sliced 2" zucchini chucks placed in the center of the table. $230?Another long wait till the "Toblerone" fondue is set with sliced banana, apple, oranges and pound cake cubes. Coffee (but decaf unavailable). It's BYOB which is fine as the Hungry Moose at the Exchange has a great beer and wine selection at retail vs restaurant markup. The music! OMG...single dude playing guitar up front. Much too loud so you can't talk to the people at your table without screaming. It would be more appropriate at a pub not a dining experience. He was fine enough playing Bob Dylan, Johnny Cash, Beatles, etc covers but a simple quiet instrumental would have been a perfect live addition but the sound misses the mark.In the end it was the music volume that really set me off and triggered me to write this. I could not enjoy a nice dinner with my family around the table in what should have been a better curated experience.Unless they create some actual value I suggest you skip the Yurt at Big Sky.There are considerably better Yurt dining experiences at other resorts.I wish I took some pictures to really drive it home.

Best dinner experience in Big Sky! Food & service is beyond 5 stars. The yurt is a must do!
An experience to enjoy. Meet at 6:30pm to sign in. 6:45 loading the two snow cats. 12 people inside each. There is rooftop seating with pads and blankets so not too cold. 10 minute ride up to the yurt where delicious hot French soup await. After soup, a short break to go play in the snow or gaze at the stars. Then perfectly cooked beef filet, cooked veggies, and delicious mashed potatoes are served. Other options are available but if you eat meat, go for the beef. Generous portions and they offered seconds. The only set butter knives but you could eat the beef with a spoon it is so tender. Desert is a chocolate fondue with Toblerone chocolate served with chunks of pound cake, bananas, apples, and oranges. Byob but they will provide glasses. They have a variety of drinks available. Service was impeccable and friendly. Pile back into the snow cats for a 10:00pm return. The driver let my wife sit up front. Just do it.
Pros: Cool to ride the snowcat up and down the mountain! Service was friendly (one guy almost too friendly--why was he rubbing my husband's belly??). Was glad they had a table for two for us and didn't stick us with another party. Food was generously proportioned and like decent home cooking. Our rustic mashed potatoes had one, completely unmashed whole potato in the dish, however. Yurt temp was comfy and warm. Watching kids sled between courses was cute. Jupiter was shining over Lone Mountain. Cons: the musician was truly awful, poor guy. He could neither sing nor play to save his soul. Live music is not a treat when it's done that poorly. It was a sad distraction all night. When he did take a break, the "smooth jazz" station they had on kept skipping, over and over, and no one noticed until my husband asked that it be changed. Though the prepared food was decent, the bread and the hot cocoa were cheap grocery store items. No chairs were set up around the outdoor propane-fueled fire pit. Bottom line: nothing about the experience was outstanding, other than being on the mountain at night. I'd have preferred a snowcat ride and a bagged sandwich instead. For $281/pp before tip, they should do better be it the food, the atmosphere (plastic and cardboard cups for drinks), the live music. We could have had dinner with wine at Per Se in NYC for that kind of money. If they are raking in the $ on this, I feel taken advantage of. If there are costs to running this thing not visible to me, I feel like: Still: do better. It's a business, not a charity.
