Lots of local Mayan dishes. Sopa de lima, pollo pibil and the cochinta were the highlights. Lomita and tamales were ok. The queso relleno wasn't great. Cash only and you really have to know some Spanish to order.
By far the best food we have had in Cancun. Genuine, no frills, authentic Mexican/Yucateca food. Sopa de lima (chicken soup with lime juice, topped with shredded chicken and pieces of tortilla) and Cochinita Pibil, a Yucatan specialty of pork (probably pork shoulder) marinated in sour orange juice and spices and then cooked. The traditional way is wrapped in banana leaves and cooked for a very long time in a pit in the ground, but I doubt they did this in the middle of the city of Cancun. So probably in the oven. Spectacularly good! No alcohol and no credit cards, though you can pay with dollars if you're short on pesos. Closed Tuesdays and it closes at 8 PM on other days. I may go back there tomorrow for breakfast, which looks outstanding.

Advised by local kind people met at Tortuga Beach. Thank you Fernanda;) with Friends. Beautuifuly set in a typicall Yucatan Home. Fantastic service. We were so speechlrss that we ordered włosy everything. Very busy with local and tourists. We adored their amazing Chicken Broth with Lime, Made from The scratch tortilloas
Found this place in search of authentic Mexican. Fits the bill perfectly. This is a 15 minute walk away from civilisation and only the most dedicated tourists will make it here. Well worth the effort. Firstly, this is more of canteen than a restaurant, menu is only up on the wall, big TV with over the top Latin programming, type of place with cashier behind a screen on the way out, no alcohol - but its great. Food is just what you are expecting if you want local. Waiter helped us to pick a selection - think we had a selection of panuchos and solbutes. Yum. Do remember: Lime soup - Yucatan speciality - if you like Tom Ka Ghai then this is similar without the coconut. Something deep fried and filled with cheese - has to be one of the tastiest and probably unhealthiest comfort foods I have ever eaten. Hibiscus water is great, tamarind and other alternatives too. Highly recommend. Will be first stop on a return visit to Cancun.
This is an excellent place in Cancun to eat authentic food from Yucatán. It is a very local restaurant away from the tourist crowds with a great value and amazing food. The staff is very friendly and they provide very quick service. Don’t leave without trying one of their “aguas frescas.” My favorite was Mango but they have some of the more common ones like Horchata. As far as the food, you can’t go wrong. But Caldo de Lima is a must. You won’t regret it. A taxi from the hotel zone will charge you around $10-$15 but it is definitely worth it. They do take cards. Don’t forget to leave a generous tip if you enjoy the food and service.

I was recommended by an UBER driver to visit this place. We were so glad to taste the food of this place. You can see a lot of locals eating and a few tourist. When you arrive at this place it does not look much as other “fancy restaurant” but the flavors speak by themselves. Both of my teens wished they a bigger stomach. I have been to other restaurants who serve similar food but this place is more authentic as far as Yucatán cuisines but do not believe and go and experience it yourself.
Go with a big group of friends and just order and eat everything on the board if you can! Amazing, tasty and very fine typical cuisine of Yucatan with a great service and lots of locals, Just order and try - it is a discovery and revelation of Mexican taste
Excellent service, cleanliness and delicious food
They are always very friendly and the food is delicious.
For me the best cakes in Cancun, very good service and very affordable prices. They are the closest thing to the tortas de puesta de lamina in Mexico City, they only vary in size because here they are made with a normal-size telera. Highly recommended, they also have breakfast and lunch, water and smoothies.
