This spot is amazing, the ambient, service and food is so worth the price. In my experience Claudio and Omar were beyond good taking care of us.

Service and food was fantastic! I think the pasta was hand made, very good “toothy” texture. Prices here are so much better than the h strip on 5th…want to come back again before we leave!

We have a home in Akumal and “always” come here for at least one dinner every trip to our place. The food is incredibly tasty, the value is the best in Playa and the service is impeccable! Tonight, Elena our hostess was the most welcoming and seated us promptly and Oscar our server is another absolute star! His recommendations are always on point and his personality is special! Don’t miss Casa Sofia Playa if you visit…it’s a little taste of authentic Italy in the middle of the Yucatán Peninsula ?

By far the best meal we have had in PDC. We've been in the area for nearly 3 weeks and am only sorry we didn't fine this place sooner. Food was full of flavour, we had the meatball starter and the eggplant starter, both were delicious. For mains we shared pizza and pasta, which were also great. Great portion sizes (we had to bring some home!), prices and really friendly service, including from the head chef. Only have a few days left but already booked to go back.

Very nice looking spot. The pasta itself is homemade and has nice stuffings. The sauces are pretty pale tough and service wasn't all that kind.

The food here is excellent and well priced. We had pasta and soup each and shared salad...I had to take some home. I would highly, highly recommend the broccoli soup - I've had it twice here now and love it!

Absolutely brilliant place to eat. On holiday here with friends from Quesnel, BC and have eaten at this place three times. The menu has so many choices and the food is fantastic. Our waiter Abraham was great he is lots of fun and we had so many laughs with him, his personality is well suited for the restaurant industry and if your planning a visit make sure to book and ask for his table area and service you won’t regret it … the prices at this restaurant is very reasonable for the excellent quality of food … well done guys you are doing a superb job catering to the tourists and locals ?

What a wonderful evening out at Casa Sofia Playacar. The staff could not have been nicer or more attentive. Special shoutout to Abraham - you rock dude! We ordered drinks and the "Prosciutto con melone" as an appetizer. Half a canteloupe cut in sections and draped in wonderfully salty prosciutto was promptly delivered to our table, and it could easily be shared among four people. The chef arrived to discuss the evening's specials and my better half ordered the pasta with four types of mushrooms sprinkled with truffles. He said it was delicious and had a wonderful variety of flavours. I had a Hawaiian pizza which was the best I've had in Playa del Carmen. It was perfectly done, with lots of toppings, and also very flavourful. We somehow managed to find room for the Tres Leches con mango desert, which was the perfect ending to a memorable dining experience. Highly recommend, and we will be returning soon.

Terrific, no-nonsense local spot. Our family eats here everytime we visit Playa del Carmen. The food is always delicious and the service great.

Great service (Leo is so sweet), great pizza, good wine selection, tasty pasta. Love it here. If you’re in town, give it a shot!
