i tried coming here several times, but i think im gonna called it, no more.first time was months ago and i tried their beignets (3) and a speciality coffee that had on their store walking sign (basically was just bunch of mocha, and the beignets were tasteless) it was $19.00, kinda shocking the price, specially for it to be so small, not decorated at all to make you feel like New Orleans, and the staff acting like the walking dead with neon hair.second time i went here cause the coffee shop citizen vinyl was taking soooo long, and there was only a mom and her son in front of me, it took way to long to get service for her and then me. between a barista and a dough ball fryer you think they could multitask and speak, act like they can do their jobs without depression and attitude.third time, i walk in, it’s open, music is playing, but nobody is in the store at all, not even employees, no sign or anything to explain how weird it was.i’m surprised this place is open honestly. im from louisiana and this gives nothing at all from the culture,

New Orleans themed coffee shop. Had a very unique selection of drinks and specials. I definitely recommend for a cool assortment you can't get other places.

Amazing lattes here. Every drink has been so good. I will say I wish they had more interesting sandwich combos. Like salmon, cream cheese, avocados, leafy greens, etc. Or more sweet options. Lol maybe one day I'll try the king sandwich even though I am slightly puzzled about the ingredients.Service was friendly and quick. Wish there were some chairs at the tables for couples XD. Most importantly tho, the beignets ofc are delicous and I like that they have options for gluten free hash browns if a customer is inclined.

The coffee was really tasty, and the employees were so friendly. Ashley was particularly inviting. Also, that monster logo is so cool!

I was pretty surprised at how bad this place was. Much different atmosphere than when they were on Tunnel Rd. Now, yes its downtown but its a total hole in the wall. Everything was was to go plates and cups and wasnt that good.

I used to be a regular here, a DAILY regular. I recently went back after a year or two and expected to pay $12-$15 based on what the prices showed online. I got there to pick up my food and it cost me almost $40... overpriced, for sure, but that is just in my personal opinion through the eyes of a local. There really isn't much of an atmosphere here because the inside is small and you pretty much make your own atmosphere. The beignets are good though! That I will say, they make a consistent beignet. ??

I was really looking forward to this place but was disappointed. First, their menu pricing online is inaccurate. If I had known it was twice as much as advertised, we probably wouldn't have gone. It was $60 for 4 drinks and 3 beignettes. The drinks were mediocre and the beignettes were fine but nothing extraordinary. For the price it certainly wasn't worth it in our opinion. The staff was very friendly and it didn't take too long to get our food. The location itself is very small and was crowded at times.

I'm big on the Bebettes I encountered when it was on Tunnel Road a few years ago. I love love love beignets and the traditional Cafe du Monde lattes, and that is every bit the experience I had at the original location. There was coffee shop appropriate music - a little lightweight New Orleans style jazz - and plenty of place to sit and chill. The new location has the same great beignets, however... the service and environment made me not want to come back. I was "greeted" with a sullen glare and an immediate turned back. All four tiny tables were packed. The girl behind the register did not seem to be motivated or bothered by me standing at the register. Even though she was doing something, she - and no one else - never greeted me at all and barely bothered to take my order.I received my beignets in a paper bag, which showed me exactly what they expected - which was for us not to linger but get the hell out.. completely in line with their demeanor. They served us the traditional beignets - completely drowning in powdered sugar - but there was not a single napkin to be found anywhere. And then the screaming Nirvana and Stone Temple Pilots and Weezer started up. I love those bands, but this was not a place I wanted to stay. 16 bucks for 3 good beignets and slightly burnt (not authentic) lattes, served with a scowl and harsh music and a clear desire for us to never come back.I won't hesitate to honor their obvious wishes. I'm pretty sure the original owner would not have wished it to be this way.Very disappointing.

Nothing special, unfortunately. The food is very expensive for what you get (a slice of bacon, a few banana slices, a smear of peanut butter between 2 slices of over fried dough) and a small coffee was $24.88 before tip! It's a tiny little place with no comfortable seating- just one long bench with some scattered tables. I won't be back but glad I tried it, anyway.

The staff were friendly enough but I was the only person in the store in the morning and it took 10+ minutes to get a latte and a tea. Additionally, my latte (I got the Madagascar Vanilla bean) had extremely burnt milk. I wanted to like it so bad but the milk was over stretched and over heated and tasted so burnt I couldn’t finish half (I tried to give it a fighting chance knowing that sometimes the foam on top can be a bit peculiar, but in the end it was just a bad latte). The idea is there 100% and I may go back to try the beignets but the baristas for sure need new training because nobody wants to spend a pretty penny on a novelty drink that’s done poorly.

I cannot believe how fantastic the beignets and the café au lait is at Babettes. I felt like I was in New Orleans at the world famous café duMonde having the most amazing afternoon snack. This is a must do when you are in Asheville at the Grove Arcade.
