Such a cute little spot! We loved the Tempeh So Asheville (tempeh and avocado on rosemary focaccia - YUM) and the pimento tomato sandwiches. Would absolutely recommend.

a truly lovely and unique experience. a vegan casual restaurant with creative menu and warm, friendly smiles. all the folks seemed super happy to be working there. i ordered a lentil patty burger. it was crisp and flavorful. and the breakfast burrito was hearty with tofu crumble. there were so many items that intrigued my curiosity. the place had an amazing variety of gourmet chocolates. we tried 37% cacao pistachio milk chocolate and 60 % cacao salted caramel chocolate. both were excellent. overall, i would highly recommend the place for both flavor as well as curiosity. wonderful people and restaurant.

Best Reuben I've ever had! I loved the service and the intentionality in creating quality and delicious food. My partner got a great burrito, but I will always order a Reuben at Sunflower Diner when I'm in Asheville. Eat here!!

My family and I stopped here from out of town for breakfast. It was a quaint little place that's attached to a market. We all got the breakfast burrito and the Reuben and it was all delicious! It was very home-y and down to earth. I would recommend!

Sunflower diner is a vegan gem in West Asheville. The menu has both delicious breakfast and lunch options. Highly recommend the vegan Reuben or the breakfast burrito. Gluten free options available. Staff is very warm, friendly, and personable. The diner is attached to a health foods market where you can buy additional snacks and beverages. Great selection of local wine, beer, and kombucha. Looking forward to returning when I am in the area!

The food and service is fantastic. Ate here twice on our 3 day trip to Asheville.

I used to LOVE this place, it’s vegan, they’re kind, quick enough and had an amazing menu. About 2 months ago they changed their menu so it’s revolving instead of their fixed menu (where you can create your own bowl, get biscuits, salads, etc) and I’m disappointed because every time I’ve gotten sunflower since they changed their menu I couldn’t even finish my food because I did not like what I got. Great place and great employees but they should bring back their old menu.

Amazing breakfast and lunch options for vegans that check off all the boxes for flavor. The staff is always friendly and knowledgeable. Outdoor seating is available if you want to stay (no indoor seating yet). I most recently had a breakfast biscuit and it was super filling.

Sunflower diner has amazing vegan food! I highly recommend the lemon berry waffle when it’s on the menu. Their staff is also very kind and that always makes for a great experience anywhere you go. We were assisted by Avery and she has great energy & great suggestions on what to try. Definitely give them a visit if you’re in Asheville, we will certainly be back next time we’re in town :)

Our second time here and it was even better than the first! I had the med platter and husband had a burrito. Desserts were key lime pie (to die for perfect) and strawberry pudding (pretty yummy). The feta cheese tasted so much like goat cheese I almost feel like it can’t possibly be vegan. Loved the hummus, falafel waffle, tabouli, and even the bread. Husband says the burrito was an 8/10. Highly recommend!

Tucked inside the West Village Market (also fabulous), this cozy eatery will delight plant eaters and omnivores alike! It's more of a breakfast/lunch counter than an actual sit down diner. This may be a result of COVID spacing. There are a few seats inside and a couple outside as well. I got my order to go as it's a sunny day perfect for eating outdoors. It was really hopping at 12:30 on a Sunday afternoon both inside and out. The three folks working behind the counter were all busy making food when I walked up so I waited a bit, perusing the short but delicious menu and eyeing the dessert case. Since I hadn't intended on getting food (I had breakfast and plans for a late lunch), I opted not to get the large Italian sandwich that was tempting me or the banana pudding. I instead went for a homemade biscuit with tempeh, blistered onions/peppers/tomatoes, and cashew cheese. The biscuit was large and fluffy. The smoky tempeh complimented the rich, creamy cashew cheese perfectly. And the blistered veg was a revelation! I have to start adding those to my brunch at home. All this messy, yummy loveliness for $7. In West Asheville! I shopped around the market while I waited about 10 min for my food. I will definitely recommend Sunflower to my local NC friends and plant-loving peeps visiting from elsewhere.

Super friendly staff, our cook literally took time to show us around the store. She was knowledgeable and sweet. We loved talking to her, our sandwiches were amazing! I had the tofu scramble burrito and it was to die for! Who ever said vegan wasn’t good, never had sunshine cafe. Holy sheet! Try this place!

Really, we haven't had a decent vegan meal out since we left the West Coast and this place was awesome! My husband had the Reuben and I had the chili dog. We finished this scrumptious lunch with a slice of peanut butter pie! Update-we have dined here 3 times and each time the food was superb. Today we took my 87year old Omni mother and she raved over the Gyro. Hubby had the Brekki Bowl and I had the tacos. Dessert was a cowgirl cookie purchased in the grocery. The grocery may be small but anything you desire is probably located inside. The fresh produce is outstanding and the variety of vegan choices is outstanding.

The food was fantastic! Very flavorful plant based choices. The entrees were perfect as was the dessert. Great experience! Would 100% recommend!

This is an awesome place, with helpful, friendly people. I love that the restaurant is part of the deli/shop.The Philly cheese steak is ridiculously good. I would drive nearly 600 miles again just for that. I've been eating and cooking vegetarian food nearly my entire life, and I have no clue how they made it so amazing.
