I'm devastated to hear that the Mothlight is closing down for good. This was a really great and intimate venue, especially for metal. Saw and met some really cool bands here. I wish someone could have bought this place to keep it open and running after the pandemic ends, but I guess no one is willing to take on that risk during these uncertain times. Amazing music venue. They consistently book quality bands, and their staff is very friendly and courteous. Regardless of who is playing, the sound is excellent, and the venue itself is very clean and well-maintained.
This is one of my favorite venues in Asheville. I’ve seen some of my favorite shows here such as the Wham Bam Puppet Slam, a Bit Brigade concert, and a Russian Circles concert. I’ve seen a lot of shows throughout the years and at various venues on the east coast, but have had some of the fondest show-going memories here.
