Drove by, showed to be open. Not many cars there. Wanted to order wings to go. Tried for 3 hours to get them in the phone. Decided to drive up at 8pm. Even though they are open late, someone was pulling a barrier over the entrance…. On a Saturday no less!! Post the correct hours on your google listing or have a message on your machine about opening hours or better yet… ANSWER A PHONE!! How hard is that?? They are obviously not interested in keeping this place open in the long term. Next time we are up, we will definitely drive right on by. Famous Brick Oven a few curves up was definitely a much better choice especially after reading these other reviews

After driving from Florida and spending nearly 13 hours in the car we were looking for a nice relaxing meal to enjoy before settling into our cabin. Not knowing the area, we picked Mile High Tavern as it was close by and we had just driven the mountains in the rain and were not looking to leave the condo it again since it was dark.Upon entering, the atmosphere is nice and relaxing with games available to play (pool, Jenga, etc.)Looking at the menu we were shocked at the prices. We ordered 2 Bacon cheeseburgers (with fries and soda) and a kid's portion of chicken tenders (not on the menu) with fries and a soda, and the grand total (with tip) was $70!$70 for a place where you order at a counter, and no table service is insane! Like I said, if we had arrived during the day and knew of somewhere else to eat we would have. For a family of 3 (2 adults, 1 child) to pay $70 is more than I would pay at a restaurant with service or a major theme park in the Orlando area.Choose wisely - there are other good places on the mountain that are not as expensive, and have good service and delicious food.Side note, the food was good ? but the most expensive hamburgers and chicken we have ever had!

A great place to swing by for a burger while out on the mountain. Walking distance from Beech Mountain ski slopes, with lots of great beer and cocktail options! The burgers were big and the side of fries was abundant. Open spaced seating with good outdoor options during the warmer seasons. The menu overall is mostly flatbreads, wings, and burgers but made for a great lunch selection.

Basic menu that is terribly overpriced. A hair was embedded in the cheese on my $20 chicken sandwich. This restaurant is a train wreck. Hopefully it will go under soon and change management. The location has too much potential to continuously disappoint.

I was so excited to visit. My first time in, and I walked to the register to ask what IPA they had on draft. The extremely rude cashier told me the menus were at the table and I could go back and look. I went back and decided on which IPA. When I got to the register again and ordered I was informed that they were out of that, so they only had one IPA and she still sent me back to look at the menu. I settled on a bud light and left

This place is never open and when they say they are, they often aren’t. Today was the busiest sky day of the year, and they marked themselves as open…they aren’t. The food stunningly expensive. We make fun of it every time we drive by because yup…still not open ?

The worst food service and atmosphere I have ever experienced. The prices are insane. The food taste like it was cooked hours before and then microwaved you would be better off eating at home or from a garbage can out back.

Unfortunately I cannot give the Mile High Tavern very much of a solid review and cannot recommend it. The menu is limited- they were out of wings, and we thought the items overall were quite overpriced. For a burger and fries (which are $4 extra by the way) - will cost you over $20. The patty size is about that of a McD’s burger. Flavor was ok, but for a burger pushing $20 I would expect more- ie gourmet burger. If you’re looking for a quality meal at a reasonable price, I would recommend drive on by and look elsewhere. Hopefully they can get things on track. A quality tavern on the mountain is always desired for vacationers and locals.

2:00 pm on a Sunday with 2 vehicles in the parking lot we walked in to be half a** greeted by a girl w/ an attitude that it was obvious she didn’t want to be there. When we asked to be seated at a table that would accommodate our family of 8 she mumbled under her breath and walked off. Management may want to train her again in customer service because she had ZERO! We walked out before we could even place a drink order because the first impression was lasting and honestly, ruined the want to stay. We came down to the Mi Jalisco where the customer service and food buried them!Beech Mountain do better!

Very bad service, we asked the CLARE cashier to advise us which beer could be good and she responded that there was the menu in front, so go and see it. We didn't leave the place because our friends ordered first than us, but it is definitely a place where I will not return and I do not recommend!!! very bad attitude and service.

Why on a Friday and peak season would you close at 10 and only do flatbreads after 9. Terrible business model…especially when there is really nothing else on the
