Great dog friendly bar with live music often. The drink menu has a lot to offer. A little for everyone yet still a cohesive theme. Great place to meet friends for an outdoor drink. Try to find a better bar staff in the area. You can’t.

Yall...the peeps at 401 Main are tops! Decided to stroll on in here after doing my lil side delivery gig and get some dinner.

Met the owner and his crew, nice bunch of folks. Apparently, their head chef headed for greener pastures a lil while back; and they had to scale back the menu, but dang it was still good. I decided to be "good" and get the Cobb Salad with Grilled Chicken. I've had some Cobb salads in my day, and this one is by FAR the BEST! Full of flavor and super duper fresh. While waiting on my salad to go, I got a draft beer from a regional brewery. Ice cold and full of flavor, these guys/gals/theys/thems keep their lines clean, If you're in the bizz..IYKYK... The atmosphere is warm, clean, and inviting. And so are the bathrooms, super clean.

I'll definitely be back soon. Oh, and Wednesdays are live local music nights, come by and get you some tasty cocktails and food, I know I will!

We brought our puppy. The outside was great. There were more sheltered areas and more open areas. Areas with all different levels of shade. They are very pet friendly. The food though. I feel like I've been eating cardboard - the food is so flavorful and fresh. The house sauce is amazing. But even better than their outdoor space and food is the service. Our waiter Wayne was incredibly friendly and helpful. It's our first time in the area and he put us right at ease.

Nice bar in downtown Carrboro with food and live music. I wish they had more draft beer options though. They offer a few different vegetarian options.

Unfortunately food was poor relative to sampling other bar or brewery food in the same neighborhood by a long shot. Menus seems to have changed. Good location and atmosphere for drinks.

Needed a place to eat while waiting for someone. Would have been nice to sit outside but a little cold and windy. Although they do have a covered area. Nice inside bar area to sit. The fried pickles were a tad bit to salty. Not the worst I have had . My son raved about the meatball sandwich. He loved it. I had the chicken orzo soup and burger. Definitely worth it. Staff was great. There were only 3 upfront but you wouldn't know. Worked well as a team each of them stopping to get order and make sure we had everything we needed. Worth the stop.

First time coming here. Bartender was nice. Sat down with our menus, couldn’t get service, and left. Seemed less than half full.

401 Main is a unique dog themed restaurant with a small indoor space and large patio. The inside is a wrap around bar and a few tables. Pick a seat anywhere and someone will come to help you. I went at a busier time but service was still quick and attentive. The fries had some pepper on them which was a nice touch and the tots are good. The outdoor patio looked like it would be a great spot given nice weather.Unfortunately the main course was pretty mediocre. The burger was hammered and the bun left a lot to be desired. Parking is also a little tricky.

Parking: There are no parking spots at the restaurant. There is a free parking deck by the hotel across the street that usually has availability.

We stopped in for a few drinks before a show. The outdoor seating area was cool and the bartender was great!
