Hands down, the best deli sandwiches in Cary, NC. Locally owned, rustic inside, a real throwback atmosphere. The pastrami corned beef sandwich is out of this world phenomenal!

I LOVE this little deli in downtown Cary. The food is always perfect, and the service is always so friendly. A great place to take your kids, too ❤️Vegetarian options: The hummus wraps are so good!Dietary restrictions: They are happy to accommodate! We have a dairy allergy in the family and they always get the modifications correct. I never have to worry about it.Parking: All parking in downtown Cary is free. There's a lot behind the deli, along with street parking and a large lot at a church two doors down on Academy streetKid-friendliness: PBJ, grilled cheese, mac and cheese, and turkey/ham sandwich. High chairs available.Wheelchair accessibility: It's accessible, but can be a bit tight inside. They also have outdoor seating which is a bit more spacious.

I would not call Serendipity Gourmet "gourmet." Walking around before work, I decided to grab a quick sandwich. I went with the build your own sandwich and got a turkey on pumpernickel bread. The sandwich came out quickly, and since it was so nice outside, I decided to grab a seat outside. Once I opened my box, I was sad to see not only my sandwich was just thrown in there, but no condiments to be seen. So, I went back and got a couple of packets of mustard and mayo. My return to the restaurant did not go unnoticed with the lack of smiles and three frowns from the staff members. When I asked for a knife, I did not receive any warmth as well.As I continued to eat my sandwich, I noticed even more lack of care as the tomatoes I requested not to be there were there. And even with the condiments added, the sandwich was just not good. For $11, especially, the quality of meats and toppings are just not there, which is sad because there are not many grab and go places in this area. For the future, I will make sure to either bring my own food for or budget enough time to sit down and eat at another restaurant. The lack of care and poor customer service is a big red flag. I just did not feel welcome. I won't be back.
