I have been to this restaurant 3 times over the past year. And the food was outstanding as well as the service! It is always a treat to see the sports history of the University of North Carolina on the walls of this place. I also love how it is uniquely placed above the road giving you a wonderful view of Franklin street.

Our party of 6 sat on the balcony. It was covered because of the outside temps but still provided a nice view of Franklin St. The food was fine, standard fare.

Fantastic place for beers, views, and food. Very impressed with everything I ordered. Both beers were delicious and the braised beef was incredible!

I have not been to Top of the Hill for years, because when I went the view was great but the food was mediocre at best. What a change! The food was superb. I had gritcakes with a 3 mushroom rosemary cream sauce, with optional salmon added. The grit cakes with mushrooms were so good I savored every bite and can't wait to finish what I brought home. My companion had the boneless short ribs, with a fabulous sauce also. Completely tender and tasty. For dessert they had a very bright idea - key lime pie without the pie crust.Scrumptious, and plenty for 2 people with 2 spoons. I will definitely be going back a whole lot sooner than I did last time!

Our first visit to Top of the Hill was excellent. We were a group of ten after the swim meet. The food was all excellent (my hamburger couldn't have been better). The server was very freindly and attentive. The location is perfect,on a corner of Franklin St. You take an elevator to get to the restaurant as it is on the second floor. We highly recommend Top of the Hill and will definitely return. Its now our favorite restaurant in Chapel Hill.

Service at the top of the hill was the bottom of the barrel. I never got my drink. Waitress flat out ignored me. I did everything but tackle her. Even other diners noticed. We left cash for my husband's beer & left.

Very good food - we had the jambalaya, short ribs, and bulgogi salmon and all were excellent and they were able to accommodate our dietary needs. And I liked the environment. Not too noisy but a good vibe. My husband had their IPA and enjoyed it.

For game day, there was a 30-45 minute wait. Luckily, they use a program that sends texts to your phone, and you can actively see your spot in line using a link. Once we were seated, the service was extra speedy. Food was freshly prepared and the serving sizes were massive! Definitely a little more expensive for a meal on Franklin St., but knowing that you’re leaving with a to go container makes it worthwhile.

Had lunch with a group of friends here and glad to see it’s still goings strong. Food is great and the view is amazing overlooking Franklin Street

Great spot, a little hard to find on the 3rd floor (go up the stairs to a plain door and go in). I had the turkey sandwich and added bacon. It came with banana peppers, onions, and mayo I think. Very tasty but skip the chips and get fries or something else. The Quite Right Hazy IPA was fantastic, really enjoyed it. My son had the nachos with chicken added and said they were good.

Probably my favorite spot to take first time Chapel Hill visitors to, for the views and the ambience - TOPO feels like the center of Franklin St sometimes. But not just for that! The food is great, and the menu is always evolving. They have plenty of veggie options and the appetizers are killer - the lizard chips (fried pickles and jalapeños) and the sweet potato waffle fries with pepper jelly and cream cheese are faves. They brew beer in house with a great variety. Brunch is awesome. Only downside: during the school year, it’s always PACKED. I prefer it in the summer, but your mileage may vary!

I really enjoyed the salmon bowl! Everyone enjoyed their food and drinks. It's possible they have a kids menu but I didn't see it on their website or when I scanned the code at the restaurant. There were a couple kids there when we visited. The menu we viewed was definitely for the mature palate. We are here on a Saturday around 1pm. It was busy but not overcrowded. I would eat here again next time I'm in CH!

Top of the Hill! I cannot stress enough how much I enjoyed myself here!! Our server was Cesare and he was so friendly and kind and very accommodating with great recommendations. The food was absolutely amazing. The “thumbs and toes” was probably the best bbq chicken chunks I’ve ever had. And luckily we came in when their special of the day was true bbq brisket sandwich topped with cole slaw. It was so good that I cannot believe it’s not a menu staple. My God. We even ordered an extra side of brisket just because it was so tender and juicy. It sucks that I don’t live in North Carolina, otherwise I would 100% be in here every weekend for the great food, friendly staff, and chill vibes with a great view.

This was our first visit to TOPO and it did not disappoint! Delicious food, great staff and beautiful view. The drinks were perfect and I cannot rave enough about the risotto with fried salmon and the rolls!!! Mouth watering, we will definitely be back for more.I will also add that the restrooms were very clean and spacious. The restaurant overall is nice and has options to dine inside or out.
