Top tier service. Incredible environment. Not too loud and very welcoming atmosphere. But the food.... absolutely delicious cuisine.

Got tapas with my friends on Saturday night and had a great time. The staff and service was 10/10 and the food was awesome. Highly recommend the pork ribs, papas bravas, and the (I think banana cake?) dessert!

We had a lovely lovely dinner at Proximo. The staff, from the moment we arrived, were lovely and informed. The food was superb--special shout out for the incredible tuna and desserts. Everything was so so good. Can't wait to go back!

We've been to our fair share of tapas spots and all of the chef's current digs. Proximo was good, but I think it's trying too hard. The service was excellent. Our server knew everything (except what a paella was). He helped pair some fabulous wines and cordials. The cheese selections and the desserts were absolutely top notch and memorable. The other dishes were just alright. Unfortunately our ribs were a bit dry and the iberico was somewhat tasteless. The wine selection is short but unique and the lack of liquor license is a bit odd, considering their other spots have them. The price was great, but the dishes are rushed. Like, supersonic speed coming from the kitchen. I expected to spend some time there but everything happened so fast, we were in and out...not like a typical tapas. So, take that for what you will and maybe because it's a small seated area, their expectation is you come and go? Not sure, but I think they're trying something here that misses the mark.
Quick Edit: I don't know what some of the reviews are saying that you have difficulty choosing dishes and couldn't order all of them. Honestly, this place is so affordable. If you're a foodie, and you're coming here to review, there's no reason you can't fit the bill to try them all. We almost completed the menu and with a bottle of reserve wine and were quite happy with the overall price.

Stumbled into Proximo on a random weekday afternoon, with no reservation or expectations, but I’m glad I did! The menu was essentially comprised of a ton of Portuguese-cuisine-inspired amuse-bouches, ranging from snacks (2-3 bites) to hot/cold small plates (5-6 bites). We ordered quite a bit; aceitunas, queso de cabra, gambas, patatas bravas, vieiras, pollo arabe, crema catalana, and torrijas. My favorite was the pollo arabe, but all the dishes hosted diverse combinations of flavors that one wouldn’t necessarily concoct in their kitchen, at least I wouldn’t. The presentation was also simple yet beautiful and the interior was fresh yet warm. Would recommend checking this out for a fancier dinner.

Nice quiet space (old diner vibe) to share some tapas. The dishes came out quick, little too quick at one point, but once we found the right pace everyone enjoyed each dish. If you can’t find it while walking by look down, clever projection.

Such a unique experience. The quaint setting right on Franklin Street is the perfect scene and the food is incredible. So fun to try lots of different small plates and everything was wonderful. Couldn’t recommend more

A wonderful recasting of Ye Old Waffle. A well rounded wine selection by the glass and bottle. The Patatas Bravas is a warm welcoming dish, which paired nicely with the atun and queso de cabra. Great atmosphere and service.

I’d say that about half of the dishes were delicious. The white bean dip was great. Boquerones were good. The crema catalana was nice. The rest was were merely OK. Nothing was bad. Staff were very accommodating.

I had to cancel my reservation well in advance and Proximo charged me $20. I know they rebooked the time because it was unavailable after just a couple of minutes.
