Just moved to Plaza Midwood in Charlotte NC and I’ve been dying to try Coaltranes. We went on a Thursday night and they had $4 glasses of wine but I had a 22 ounce beer instead. They only had one server but she was absolutely incredible. We shared a bunch of things including the jalapeño queso, the maple chipotle wings, the flank steak and the chorizo. Got the quarter chicken and purposefully got an avocado bowl as a side, since that was also a main menu item. Both were fantastic, and very worth the trip. The avocado bowl as a stand-alone was great and the chicken (I had Chipotle style) was a wonderful compliment. There was a slight wait for our party of 5, but once seated service was great, and prompt.

The food was so tasty. Corn casserole, stuffed avocado, fresco bowl were all delicious. The Mac and cheese was standard.This place could use some remodeling however, the rooftop doesn’t really have a view. This could be adjusted by moving the bar area to the other side to allow more people to see the street. Some holes in the stair case, etc. Overall I would definitely order here again.
