We went to celebrate our son's birthday and while our server was good, we struggled with food service. We ordered 5 dishes and they came out in 3 waves, as a result both my wife and I's dish were cold by the time we ate cause it was nearly 10 minutes after being served that our children's pizzas were brought out. When you are paying nearly $30 for a bowl of pasta it seems outrageous that they would think it would be ok to bring dinner out in waves and not offer and consideration for their kitchen challenges. There are too many other good Italian options (with easier parking options) for us to visit again given that some basics around service were grossly inadequate.
Service was horrible, we waited for 20 min before anyone ever came to take our drink order.... And only after I had to ask if they can please send a server over. Overall the service was very slow although our waitress was trying her best. Even more disappointing then the service was the food.... Chicken was burned, lasagne too and the signature Bolognese sauce was bland with overcooked pasta. We have eaten here many times before and I can say, the overall quality of service and food has dramatically declined and needs to be addressed, if this restaurant wants to stay in business and attract the same high level clientele.
I made reservations here for my husband's birthday. We were seated promptly, however, it took over 15 mins to get served water and 25 mins to get our wine. It took over 1.5 HOURS TO GET OUR FOOD! Once it hit one hour that we had been waiting for our food, we asked what appetizer could we order that would come out quickly and we're told the bruschetta would only take a couple of minutes. We got our dinner in 1.5 hours and the bruschetta never came. This was a huge miss and I was very disappointed, especially for our first time there. The food was good, but I wouldn't say worth the wait. Our dinner reservations were at 6:30 and we did not leave there until 9 PM! that's how long it took just to wait for our drinks, food, and the check.
Was seated 30 mins after our reservation time. Sat 3 of us at a table for 10. Appetizers were cold. Sent back. Arrived same time as our meal. Wrong salad was served. Reordered salad — came back drenched in dressing, couldn't even finish . Chicken Parm was overcooked. Bolognese noodles were warm, not hot. Was served by at least 3-4 different staff, and then a completely different person sent to close our tab. Management didn't really respond to our concerns, and compensated us only for the appetizer. We love North Italia in Uptown — one of our favorites restaurants — not sure we'll revisit the Ballantyne location again.
Our first time. Great food, service and ambiance. JP was attentive and friendly We will be back
The food and drinks are consistently very good / great. Most of the time when I eat here it is with 6-10 people and everyone leaves happy! It's my go to client dinner location
We sat at the bar and had martinis. I would recommend the atmosphere and the drinks

Food is good, but portions are small, especially for the price.

Every time I order from this place, they never have the food ready and take an extremely long time. Start making the food when the order comes in, so annoying. It shouldn’t take that long.

I do not to recommend attempting to eat at this establishment if you are between the ages of 18-25 or generally look younger as the staff will profile you and you will be completely ignored. My friend and I had heard good things about this restaurant and wanted to try it. When we entered there was no hostess to be found but three waitresses chatting it up by the bar and another working on the computer. We patiently waited for ten minutes before a staff member sat the people who came before us and then skipped us to sit another duo who came in after us. Another five minutes wasted just to be seated at the worst table in the restaurant, we requested to sit at the patio the staff member then informed us that there were no more tables but the bar was open seating. She then takes our menus away and never checks on us again. We go and sit our selves at the outside bar and wait for a while, nobody checks on us not even a bartender. My friend then gets up to ask for a menu we, only for nobody to follow up with her. We ended up leaving with almost an hour wasted and no service. I am very disappointed, as we were both exited to try a new place. I understand how younger customers can be I work in the service industry myself, but that was completely unacceptable.

We've visited North Italia numerous times as we work in the area and have seen the same short female bartender many times and tip very generously. For some reason our request for to go boxes seem to irritate her so much so she felt the need to throw the receipt and pen over to us and proceeded to not say a word. Will not return
Interesting place. Menu is tasty, food is good overall. But... The food was cold, the brunch bread was toasted at some point, but again cold. The coffee may as well have been Sanka. Changed to espresso, but they couldn't make it a double!?! Waiter was nice, but was not present. For an upscale place, this was a huge disappointment. And Italian? Northern?!? NO. There's nothing Italian about the menu. It's American Louisiana with a sorta Italian fare (?). Not going back. Pitty. Huge potential, but falls really short. Where's Hell's Kitchen to fix this?!?

Recently visited with our neighbors and the food was average, and the service just plain terrible. Our waitress dropped by to get drink orders and she asked if we were ready to order. (2) were ready to order so we asked her to come back. She did however, take the orders from the two that were ready. She returned about15 minutes later with our drinks AND the food for the two that gave their order earlier. We reminded her that she had not taken the order for the whole table and we expected she would place all the orders simultaneously. She said she would be right back and we waited another 15 minutes. I had to flag her down near the kitchen and ask if she was ever going to take our order?
It was yet another 10 minutes before we placed our orders and yet another 20 minutes before it was finally delivered. By that time the other two orders were cold but we ate them vs. trying to get them re-heated.
Our waitress seemed distracted the entire time, and largely made herself invisible. In addition, as mentioned earlier - the food was average at best - absolutely nothing we couldn't cook better at home. While we made the best of it, we also agreed with our neighbors that we'd never re-visit.

We had a wonderful evening at North Italia celebrating my brother’s engagement with the family. The food was absolutely delicious, and everyone left full and overjoyed. It couldn’t have been a more perfect night.
