A friend and I used to meet there for breakfast weekly, for many years. Food and most of the staff are good. We finally stopped going because the management was so rude.It is important to remember that you are in the CUSTOMER SERVICE business!

Food is great and very affordable. Service is slower than I would like but the servers are real nice and informative.

An excellent breakfast and lunch diner style newly recreated stop well worth trying! Clean , usually less crowded than competitors, and a diverse menu with some real treasures to be discovered!

Recently ried the breakfast at Danny’s because I was curious how it compared now that it was under new ownership. Was very disappointed. Service was good. The omelet and eggs were good. HOWEVER, the sausage patties were burned and over cooked. The hasbrowns were so chewy I wondered if they were actually made from potatoes. The pancakes were orange … not sure if it was made from corn or flavored.

food and service was great! I had a sausage egg and cheese biscuit, the biscuits were super fluffy and soft, grits were good, and service was amazing. Will definitely be back!

Ate here for the first time today & will not be back. We ordered breakfast. I ordered 2 eggs over medium, bacon, toast and grits. The grits were absolutely disgusting. They tasted like plastic even after adding salt and butter. They were as thick as mashed potatoes. The toast was not even toasted. It was so lightly toasted that it wasn’t even warm & was floppy like regular bread. However, the bacon was good. My husband got a western omelette with hash browns and toast. His toast was slightly better but still not considered “toast”. The veggies in his omelette were still raw, not even cooked. We had to flag someone down for a refill on sweet tea. When I flagged him/her (bc I’m not really sure) down, they were standing at the counter eating. The tea was refilled with just tea and no ice and didn’t even fill the glass full. As much as restaurants charge for drinks now, I expect refills without asking. We decided we wouldn’t be back. When we went to pay we were asked if everything was ok (as is asked at every restaurant) and I said “no, it was awful and we will not be back”. He/she that rung us out just said “sorry about that” but didn’t bother to ask what was wrong or what they could do better. I wasn’t looking for a discount because we did eat most of the food and did not complain at the table. However, how do you expect to have returning customers if you don’t bother to find out what’s wrong. The service was bad and so was the food. Do not recommend trying this place at all…just look at the other reviews too.

Breakfast was not good. Cheese omelets had very little cheese, hasbrowns were offered as a side(1.50 up charge was not mentioned upon order) service was poor, biscuits were cold, hashbrowns were chewy and Luke warm. Also took awhile for the food to reach our table. None of the staff looked happy, no smiles, no greeting when arriving, just deadpan. Definitely NOT returning.

Great breakfasts. Very nice people. Biscuits are fresh. Omelets and hash browns are delicious. You are never rushed, as with other places. Over all a pleasant breakfast experience.

Danny’s restaurant was phenomenal when we went and the new owners took over and it became horribly worse! All my friends that ate there before I loved it nobody will go back that new Danny! The food is awful! They need to change the cooks in the kitchen! I got burnt sausage, asked for more they brought me out cold burnt sausage! Everything tasted horribly bad. My friends that used to go there will never go there again! They serve horrible food.

I’d like to thank the owners of Danny’s restaurant for closing down their business and hosting the repast after my cousin’s funeral. You don’t find many places that would provide a service for free and lose revenue. To the person who corwardly (posted someone else’s picture) wrote the unnecessary review. You didn’t pay for anything so if you didn’t like the food don’t go back.CSM

Oh, how I wish there wasn't such a long wait at the Village Tavern which made us look for a different lunch spot today... this was just awful. We must have just missed some sort of rush because more than half the tables were empty but not bussed so we ended up having to sit right by the front door which was so cold every time someone came in or out. We decided to order lunch - patty melt and a club sandwich. The patty melt was burnt as were the tater tots - the burger patty had no flavour and was sooooo dry, which is probably why they serve this with a sauce over it (seriously, who serves a sauce on their patty melt?!) The 'grilled' onions weren't grilled - such a disappointing choice. The club wasn't much better. It came out several minutes after the patty melt (??!) and was made incorrectly (I had asked for no mayo - it had mayo. sigh.) So I had to wait to have another one made. It was... okay. Not great, not bad. The tomatoes were not good quality so I had to remove them - I wish they would have just left them off (why put on food that really isn't edible - do what Jake's diner does and tell the customer that the produce (lettuce, tomato, whatever) they received that day isn't up to par and would it be okay to serve without it - have some integrity with the food you're serving!) To top it off, I asked if I could substitute a side salad for the normal starch choices (tater tots, fries, sweet potato fries or chips) and they did - but then charged an extra $3.99, the menu price for a side salad! They really should have just added a dollar or two upcharge or at least told me ahead of time. Then we paid. Sigh. A 3.99% credit card fee! Mind you they don't tell you about that until you go to check out.The only good thing I can say is that our server was very nice. But that is not enough to go back here.

Visited for lunch on a Sunday. It’s mostly a brunch type menu with some sandwiches and burgers. The restaurant was a little quiet so the service was prompt and attentive. The food was really nice, especially for the price. I had a grilled cheese with ham, then I died sliced tomato - normally I get up charged up to $2 to add tomato but there was no extra charge. The sandwich was really really good and the fries tasted fresh. I guess this place has changed a lot since the original owner died earlier this year. That said, I hope you’ll give this locally-owned place a chance.
