I just love the architecture of the S. H. Kress & Co. building, which was the trading name of a chain of "five and dime" retail department stores in the United States, established by Samuel Henry Kress, which operated from 1896 to 1981. In the first half of the 20th century, there were Kress stores with ornamented architecture on "Main Street" in hundreds of cities and towns. (Source: Wikipedia)

Kress management would not refund our granddaughter any monies paid for her use of this venue. Her wedding is scheduled for May 1 but due to the National Qurantine in effect and uncertain days to come she was wanting to cancel for the safety of her guests. I am saying that Kress has a moral obligation to help. Even if only part of the monies were refunded...especially the catering portion as we are certain no food has been purchased at this point.Many of the guest are over 65...read full review

I attended a wedding reception for a family member at Suite 300 of the Kress building. This is a beautiful, historic building located in downtown Greensboro. It was built in the 1930s and was originally used as a department store. It has been extensively remodeled and currently operates as an event hall.
