My new favorite restaurant in all of North Carolina. Right off 127 in Hickory, a modest building hids an amazing restaurant with some of the best fried shrimp I have ever tasted that happens to also be gluten free. Plus the hush puppies are also gluten free! I had the trifecta of Fried Shrimp, hush puppies and great tartar sauce for the first time in over 15 years since I had to go gluten free. This is no accident, the chef herself is gluten free and expertly crafts the seasoned breading by hand. She also made a killer pumpkin cheesecake with gluten free graham cracker crumbs and makes several other GF cakes that I hope to sample soon. Also the soups are GF and amazing like everything we tried! I would give this place six stars if I could. We just loved this place for the food, the great customer service and down home atmosphere! They have a great variety of food. They have hot dogs that are so good and they have any kind you would want on the menu. Their fries and hush puppies are excellent, so is the barbecue (the BBQ sauce is on the side, so you control how much you want). Those are the only things I have personally tried but my sister says the brisket is really good also.

The food is meh but for the proportions you get at that price, it's gourmet restaurant sizes (aka very small proportions) without the gourmet part. Also found out I had to ask and pay extra for the bread on my "sandwich" which you don't get by default.
