Ribeye was not good, tough, thin and lacked any flavor. Salad bar and shrimp were outstanding. Definitely would not call this fine dining or a steak house. Ordering process wasmade complicated and really did not make sense. Cocktails were tasty.

This is without a doubt one of my favorite local go to choices. Everything is always amazing and I've never taken anyone there who has been disappointed. Quite the opposite, they always rave about it and want to go back. Whether you are local or just in the area, you have to add this to your list as a must visit. Trust me, you will not be disappointed!

HIGHLY, HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS RESTURANT.This resturant HANDS DOWN was the best STEAK HOUSE we have ever been to. The Atmosphere was so relaxing, the wait staff was amazing. TYLER was phenomenal. He was extremely attentive. The lighting was low so it was a very romantic, casual, quiet (in my opinion) place to just go & relax. We were there approximately 2 hours. We had our reservation & got seated with in minutes of our "time" Tyler appeared within seconds of us sitting down, he took our drink & appetizer order. The appetizer KOREAN BEEF LETTUCE WRAPS were AMAZING...highly recommend. Then "the meat cart" came out, the gentleman behind the magic... the meat is so fresh, it is cut to your specifications IN FRONT OF YOU! Your cooking temp, toppings, etc are written on a wooden stick & presented on your plate. The house fries were seasoned perfectly, the steak melted in my hubbys mouth, he said it was the best steak he has ever eaten. I got the blue ridge chicken, the best chicken dish I have ever had.You get a house salad & bread served with your meal as well...you have the option to upgrade your salad to the salad bar that has soup & a cheese assortment on there as well. We didn't get that but it was a nice salad bar with a wide variety of choices. The bartender was great too, she gave me some back round on the resturant & let me take some pictures. The bar is made of pennies that are epoxied & it looks so cool. The bar stools are made of cow hide. There is a beautiful wine cellar on site as well. The resturant has only been a steak house & was the first resturant in Hickory to get a liquor license. They have a cool dessert menu along with dessert mixed drinks. It's just a really nice place to go with the one you love.We are making our 2nd trip there tonight.Just for prospective:2 big entrees each with a side, 2 side salads, 1 generous appetizer, 6 pieces of bread (rolls with butter), 2 unlimited teas, 2 unlimited waters, & 1 big slice of cheesecake was $112.00There was so much food on our plate that my chicken dish was my lunch & dinner the next day.

Zack the manager is a fair, honorable and intelligent businessman person. He corrected an issue regarding a special on the FB page and was honest how he treated us and managed the situation. We applaud his professionalism. Well done supper and we always remark to our friends at what a great dining experience we have at the establishment. Also, the vodka martini was amazing. Thank you again .

We received 2 over cooked steaks. Then 2 undercooked. We also noticed the guy that manages the salad bar touching the utensils in the toppings and then grabbing lettuce with the same hands. I have already spoken to someone here about it. He let me know I could have sent my steak back again. Just wanted to let everyone else know if you do send your steak back there is no telling what it will look like the next time and you'll probably get the piece with the most fat. "The pieces other people didn't want". I would revisit but I will not get steak or salad.

This dated (1969) local’s dive is one of the strangest dining experiences I have ever encountered. We arrived on-time for our reservation and were told our booth was not ready yet. Meanwhile there were 2 booths identical to the one we eventually were seated in sitting vacant next to it. After standing around by the door for 10 minutes, we finally took it upon ourselves to order a drink at the bar. Turns out the drink and bartender were the highlight of the evening. Twenty minutes after our reservation time, we were finally shown to our booth. Waiter finally shows up after another 10 minutes with menus. He explained the salad bar was an upcharge on any entrée and unfortunately, we opted for it. Our mistake for not eyeballing it first, as the offerings were very limited – I’ve seen bigger salad bars at fast food restaurants. And who really likes broccoli cheddar soup? Finished with our salads there was another long wait until finally we snagged our waiter and advised we were ready to order. No, not yet he explained as the meat-cart man was busy and would get to our table eventually. Finally, someone from the kitchen comes rolling a metal cart to our table with slabs of raw meat sitting atop it for us to choose - very unsanitary and unappetizing. We ordered and the meal finally arrived, over an hour after we had arrived. Steaks were mediocre and baked potato tiny; we’ve had better meals at Outback Steakhouse. Fortunately for Charolais Steakhouse it’s a small town with limited culinary options, but next time we’d eat anywhere else.
