The portions were large, and the food was hot and tasty.However, the real star of this restaurant was how good the staff (especially our waitress) were. She was on top of everything, frequently checked in to make sure were good, and just overall had a great demeaner and took pride in what she did.

We have had my grandmas birthday dinner here for the past two years now. We get the entire room in the back for our 15 person family. The service and food have been exceptionally great both years now! They let us bring in our own birthday cake and helped us to keep the birthday lady happy! Penne alla vodka and or pizza are my personal faves ?Also had a really good caesar salad!

I've never been to Hawthorne's so my review is based on the food alone (Doordash'd it). Hawthorne's is definitely a pizza place that also serves pasta - when I ordered chicken parmesan, it was nothing special. I expected a big pesto taste from the chicken pesto, but what I ate tasted like garlic butter noodles with a hint of pesto. Both dishes were good, but I'd rather order pasta from somewhere else. However, the other items are amazing - I've never had a pizza, but the calzones, Strombolis, and salads are really good. Also, the garlic knots are seriously the best I've ever tasted. I definitely recommend Hawthorne's as a pizza place, if not necessarily an Italian place.
Calzone was good but undercooked due to the oven having to work overtime due to Rush before we got there. Still good

It had been several years since we had been to Hawthorne’s. We have been traveling and when at home in Charlotte, we eat in. Friday night, 6pm, we want pizza and we try to eat local as much as possible, so off to Hawthorne’s we go. We were greeted by the hostess and after a 5 minute wait, we were seated. Our waitress was quick to get our drink order and ask if we had any questions. We ordered the Garlic Knots and a “build your own” pizza. The Garlic Knots were baked perfectly (soft with just a slight toasting on the bottom) and had a generous amount of chopped garlic and olive oil. These were the BEST Knots we have ever had!!! The pizza was delicious, with generous amounts of onion and pepperoni. Our waitress was very attentive and pleasant. Very nice experience and we will not wait several years to go back. Great job everyone at Hawthorne’s!Parking: Although they were busy, there were parking spots available.

I had a few sub-par experiences with Hawthornes, but decided to give them another shot as opposed to going to Empire Pizza in town. I ordered a pizza with pepperoni and banana peppers. The pizza I received appeared to be an older pepperoni pizza with banana peppers thrown on top afterwards and attempted to melt on under a heat lamp. The cheese was hard and rubber-like. Clearly with other options in Mint Hill, Hawthornes won't be a mistake I make again.

I was on a date, and we parked here to walk around this beautiful Mint Hill plaza before eating dinner.We watched the tow truck pulling his car away. Needless to say… we couldn’t even have dinner.Ridiculous. I felt so bad for him! Terrible business.
