The Lake Norman Catering Team catered a baby shower at my home. The food, the service and attention to detail was amazing. I would definitely recommend them and use them again.

I attended an event catered by this company. First, let me begin by saying that the servers were very friendly. They assisted the guests with a smile and my review does not reflect their efforts in any way. However, the food itself left much to be desired. My review will focus on that aspect of my experience - since this is a catering company after all. I found the meats to be over cooked - not what I would call burnt, but very dry and chewy. The side dishes presented lacked seasoning and depth of flavor. Many items also appeared to be "store bought" in bulk and not actually made from scratch. I could have overlooked this if the quality of these items was up to par, but unfortunately they were not. In addition, the set up was something I would expect at a cookout, not an upscale event. Pouring salad dressing out of a plastic pitcher was definitely a first for me. While food is not everything, it is the highlight of many events and a large budget allocation for most events. Therefore, my recommendation for your event would be for you to look elsewhere. I would hate for your guests to be as disappointed as I was.

My son’s wedding was over a year ago and I have been talking to Alexander about the food I paid for and was never served. He has been promising me that he would send me a check but never has. I would not use them unless you want to be disappointed.

I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone. I attended an event and the food was disgusting. I would not ever have paid that kind of money for that kind of service or food.

I attended a wedding in September 2023 which was catered by Lake Norman Catering and the food was absolutely awful! The food was visually unappealing, had no seasoning and was cold. I was extremely disappointed in the company's overall performance and cannot recommend them to others.

Ordered food for a bridal shower. The food we received was disgusting. I would not feed it to a dog. I don't know how they stay in business.

I was very excited to attend a wedding at a beautiful venue, and look forward to the event and even the food. The wedding was catered by, Lake Norman Catering - LangtreeLKN. The couple had gone to a tasting and picked out a menu, and without a doubt was looking forward to this on their big day. Unfortunately, although it was served with the smile, and the staff was nice, the food was actually horrible. It was compared at our table to school cafeteria food. When looking around it was full plates of dried eggs, frozen cheap type waffles, unseasoned white chicken, and what I believe they called grits. The only thing that was truly enjoyable was the fruit and the store-bought muffins.Unfortunately, the bride found out after the fact that the chef at the tasting no longer worked there, but she was not informed prior to her event. To my knowledge, she was also not given options to come in and try something else.Due to her being completely disappointed on her wedding day, she tried to speak with the company, but she got nowhere. They blamed it on delays which I understand can make food cold, but it doesn’t make food taste bad or loose its seasoning. She did take them to court, but unfortunately she lost on formalities often found in contracts. Formalities can’t be tasted but their food can and it was beyond disappointing. I’m Sure that there are several caterers in the area of Mooresville, North Carolina, I would skip over this company and go to the next.Everyone gets to have an opinion and I’m sure they will have one in response to this as well.

I was very disappointed in the food at the wedding Labor Day weekend. Considering I know the high expectations & standards of the bride, the food was disappointing. And yes, I've already read your responses to others about the serving time, I was there. And the list of seasonings claimed to be used in the food. However, that doesn't excuse things like lumpy & tasteless shrimp & grits; barely cooked EGGO waffles and bland chicken tenders for chicken & waffles; one salad dressing poured from a drink pitcher; overall the food was just not good. I wish I had pictures, but the food didn't look good enough, honestly, to even take pictures out of respect for the bride. Also, there weren't enough cups at the end to even ensure everyone could toast the couple. The bartender even told me, "Tell people to bring their used cups to get champagne." Really??!!! The servers were fine, the venue beautiful. And the one star is strictly for the food!

Worst food ever experienced at a wedding in Mooresville NC. I had to ask what scrambled eggs were they were brown. I don't who the cook is there but they need to try again. I felt so bad because the bride didn't get what was expected or what was tasted prior to the wedding. Old bait and switch.2nd responseNever would I or have I shout anything about anyone especially racially motivated. So no that was not me. Contracts are great but the facts remain the food was awful and at the end of the day as a caterer you want to be able to stand behind your food and be proud of that. It would have been better for you to admit that you had a bad day had someone quit and provide the client with some form of restitution, but you seem like you honestly believe you were perfectly right in this. That is what bothers me about you. I wouldn't have fed that food to my worst enemy. You know that food was awful and you had a last minute change in the chef. Honesty is the best policy and to provide that level of service with no remorse you should be ashamed. I have never had such bad food that was paid for in my life. If this is how you treat people being a minority double shame on you. The first was not an attack on you as a person but as a business. It's time people start doing what's right and not what is convenient. You should have never served that food I don't care what technicality/loop hole some judge found to allow you to win. You didn't win because your client didn't win. Customer service goes a long way!

I was very disappointed and hurt that Lake Norman Catering would ruin my friends' wedding reception with their subpar food. At the tasting they presened delicious food but at at the wedding reception the food was far from tasty. What happened? Oh the chef that cooked the food for the tasting was no longer working for them. It was quite shady to continue with a contract knowing good and well that you could not cook tasty food. The shrimp and grits were lumpy with a few shrimp thrown in..chicken and waffles were soggy limp eggo waffles and panko baked chicken. If only they had googled for the proper preparations. Many of the guests that I know personally were hungry after leaving the reception and went out to eat. This was just really unacceptable and they should take accountability for ruining a beautiful day for a beautiful couple.

Lake Norman Catering catered my brunch style wedding reception at the Charles Mack Center in Sept. The food this company presented my guests was not even close to what my wife and I ate at our tasting. We were utterly embarrassed, and neither me nor my wife ate anything AT OUR OWN RECEPTION!!! This will be a lengthy review but worth reading because the owner of this company is trying to discredit and devalue honest opinions, based on individual experiences with the poor quality of his food. Let me detail further. The venue had a list of caterers that they required my wife and I to pick from and we selected Lake Norman Catering LLC. We had a tasting with one of Alexander's chefs, Nathan Grice. The food he presented us was great! Shrimp and grits (yellow ground grits, creole sauce with andouille sausage and jumbo shrimp), chicken and waffles (belgian waffle with seasoned, battered, and fried chicken tenders and a lemon basil sauce), and thick center cut bacon. We had one request, serve the creole sauce separately because my wife has a shellfish allergy. Chef Nathan left the company prior to our wedding day and no one communicated that to us or scheduled another tasting. One would expect to be made aware of this sort of change, ESPECIALLY if it means a difference in recipe, taste, or quality of food received. This lack of communication after payment seems to be common on their reviews. On wedding day, we received Alexander Cruz's attempt at the menu, which was bland and nothing close to what we had at our tasting. White grits, no andouille sausage, the shrimp sauce was mixed in with the grits, eggo waffles, instead of belgian waffles and dry baked chicken tenders with panko bread crumbs. He also failed to bring the cheese for our cocktail hour and did not have enough fruit to serve our guests (this is also a repetitive issue that is not unique to our review). Alexander Cruz says he mixed in the sauce because the grits were getting cold and was not aware of my wife's allergy. So the attention to customer needs and the communication between Chef and owner is lacking also (ANOTHER repetitive issue that is not unique to our review). So regardless of whatever excuse Alexander gives, POOR QUALITY, TASTE, the lack of communication with his staff and the customer is inexcusable. Also, no excuse will validate the deception of the tasting compared to the product we received. We weren't told that anything changed. As far as the small claims lawsuit, we shouldn't have ever had to file a suit against this company in the first place. The courts ruled that because of the ambiguity of the way the contract was written, they had fulfilled their obligation. He showed up with shrimp and grits, and chicken and waffles. The contract didn't have the exact recipe on it so that was the loophole Alexander slithered his way through. He forgot to mention that the judge himself said, and I quote, "I can see how the tasting was deceptive". The lady that fussed him out after our hearing, was there for her own hearing. Neitherof us knew who she was. She was just deeply moved by the case. So deeply moved, in fact, that she felt not only compelled to verbally express her disgust for the way we were treated as customers and as litigants, but also moved to act in whatever way she was telling you as my wife and i walked to our car. We didn't have to convince her. She saw and heard it for herself, as did the other guests that gave you 1 star rating. The fact that the court ruled in his favor doesn't mean that he was in the right. It means that legally, the vagueness of the contract left him wiggle room to under deliver. As a "minority" couple, we always look for ways to support other minority businesses, but that support is conditional, and based solely upon the quality of the service the business provides. It's not about race. It's an issue of not providing us what we paid for on one of the the biggest days of our lives! Passion can't replace honesty, and it's not always easy to ta

I had the experience of your catering during recent wedding. The menu card stated shrimp and grits, chicken and waffles, bacon, eggs, fresh fruit and pastries. I was very disappointed in the presentation, food temperature, and taste. The shrimp and grits: the grits were cold and lumpy. The shrimp were included in the grits. Most caterers and cooks I’ve witnessed leave them separately so the shrimp doesn’t overcook and become rubbery. The waffles were undercooked and soggy as there was no space in the pan. They were literally beige. My guess is they were baked in the oven then placed on the warming trays. These were clearly purchased from Sysco or a big box store. The point of catering is to have the benefit of your culinary skills.I literally asked what the chicken was. C no hicken & Waffles are made with fried chicken, in order to have sweet, salty and savory. Instead we were presented with baked chicken tenders, rolled in panko crumbs, and maybe (maybe) baked or put under the a salamander. It didn’t work. That “dish” missed the target completely. The eggs were cold as well as the bacon. (Why not use heating lamps?)I ate a slice of pineapple and three bites out of my waffle. My husband took a bite of the chicken and placed a napkin over his plate. We left the reception early to go get something to eat. There is a difference between a “chef” and a “cook.” There could not have been a chef working this event. If they have chef credentials, they should go back to school. It was VERY disappointing.Additional note: Sir, you are mistaken - this is my first review. What you don’t get is that I rated MY food experience. I don’t know you from a can of paint. I expected you to deliver what you state you provide. FTR - I wasn’t at the courthouse. The fact that you are making excuses why you weren’t prepared, versus simply apologizing should tell any potential customer what they need to know. What does being a minority and having a disability have to do with lumpy grits and cold eggs? What am I trying to make work? I notice that you look at other reviews people make. I am specific about my experience good or bad. On any other day you may have rated a five - on this day, it was a 1. Take the criticism and do better.

Deception / Bait and Switch on you. Please be careful with working with Lake Norman Catering LLC. Be VERY specific in what you want down to any little nuance as they will change up your menu and the quality of food without you knowing. We completed a tasting with their executive chef on one day but at our wedding they showed up with something COMPLETELY different. For example we held a tasting where the chef provided fried chicken and belgium waffles as what he considered the "norm" for their chicken and waffles but on my wedding day they showed up with EGGO waffles and baked chicken wrapped in panko. What "premier" caterer or ANY caterer of any kind would have the audacity to show up with EGGO Waffles??? Have everything in writing regardless if the staff says they don't need it. They completely bamboozled me on my wedding day. And yes, we took Lake Norman Catering to court for this "bait and switch" they did but apparently that's legal and I lost my case. My response is to just warn others. Unfortunately I should have read other reviews because this is NOT their first time deceiving clients.

Lake Norman Catering catered my brunch style wedding reception at the Charles Mack Center in Mooresville in Sept. The food this company presented my guests was not even remotely close to what my wife and I received at our tasting, and the taste and quality of the food served was embarrasing, to say the least. No one wants to pay their hard earned money for a WEDDING to be served slop. We were utterly embarrassed, and neither me nor my wife ate anything AT OUR OWN RECEPTION!!! The owner of this company is trying to discredit and devalue the honest opinions, based on individual experiences with the poor quality of his food. What grown folks really have the time spam reviews? Prior to our wedding day, we had a tasting with one of Alexander's chefs, Nathan Grice. The food he presented was great! As a customer, one would expect to be made aware of this sort of change, ESPECIALLY if said change would mean a difference in recipe, taste, or quality of food one receives. That's not rocket science folks. On wedding day, we received Alexander Cruz's attempt at the menu, which was bland and nothing close to what we had at our tasting. Also, no excuse will validate the deception of the tasting compared to the product we received. There was not even a remote similarity, and we weren't told that anything would be different.

Buyer beware! This is not a restaurant but a catering service. I lost my complaint in court with this vendor because I wasn't specific in how the food was to prepared THOUGH THE CHEF DURING THE TASTING PREPARED THE FOOD EXACTLY HOW WE EXPECTED. Didn't think because he prepared the food as he said "how WE prepare Chicken and Waffles and Shrimp and Grits" I didn't need to spell out the recipe on the contract. Clearly I was wrong and it cost me dearly. Be sure you spell out everything in your contract because I did not. Other people have had the same complaint.
