Whenever I go places I always try to eat local. Long Beach Diner is a great example of what it means to eat local.I’ve been staying at my house on Oak Island and using this time as an opportunity to explore the area. I’ve gone to several diners for breakfast recently and Long Beach is definitely my favorite. Service is quick and friendly, good menu and one thing I love is that when you get coffee it comes in an extra tall cup. You might not think that means much, but if you love coffee like I do it is great. This morning I got two eggs with a biscuit, hash browns, and turkey sausage. My wife got a bacon, egg, and cheese on toast. Both meals were great. When we were leaving we checked out their weekly specials and there were many items that piqued my interest. I foresee myself having many meals here in the future. For reference, my total meal cost with coffee and a tea for my wife was $20 before tip.

Great place to grab a quick breakfast. Menu is pretty standard with solid choices. The staff are always friendly. Always happy to have a place stay busy during off season.

Recommended. Good coffee and enjoyable atmosphere. Feels like local spot. The sausage egg and cheese biscuit is a double meat. Big biscuit with right thickness and texture. Just right.

I would've taken pictures but, we all ate everything! It was delicious! My husband said his cheese eggs were amazing and the pancakes are big! Oh and the buscuits were real scratch made because i am country and can taste the difference. I also loved how they have different coffee creamers. The wait wasn't long at all even though it was packed! Service was perfect!

Nice little diner to visit on Oak Island. I got a huge breakfast and couldn’t even finish it all, chocolate chip pancakes the size of your plate! Staff was very friendly and kept the hot coffee refilled constantly throughout my whole meal!

We went on a Saturday morning and had a short wait for our party of five. Everyone was kind and courteous. I really like that the menu lets you order how much food you need (1 biscuit, 3 French toast, etc.), versus having a standard menu item. The kids menu items are also perfectly portioned and priced. It was good, but nothing really special in my opinion. We might go back, but we're not itching to visit again on our next trip.

The service was great, and that was about the extent of what I can brag about, other than the coffee being delicious. I got the Southport Barge with a side of bacon. The bacon had more than obviously been cooked well before our order was taken. As had the biscuit. The hash browns tasted like they'd been thawed and reheated with the white stuff they passed off as gravy. I definitely wouldn't write home about the sausage patty either. The eggs were the only part of my order that were cooked to order. My husband got pancakes, sausage links, and bacon. His bacon was no better. He almost shot his sausage across the room trying to cut it, and his pancakes were only good after he drowned them in syrup and butter. But he said they still tasted old. Bottom line, there are much better places to eat here. We won't make the mistake of coming again - kindness and good service are only small factors in the big picture that is a restaurant.

4 stars for food only. Stopped in for lunch. Food was excellent. Lots of waitstaff that seem to wander around. Our waitress never checked on us after another waitress brought our food. No refills on drinks and she never brought the ticket. It was like she forgot she was our waitress. We stood at the cash register and another waiter had to go hunt her down to get the check. No apology, no " thanks for your business".

Long Beach was good and even better to us because they were the only breakfast spot open on 4th of July morning. I went here a lot when they were Beana's kitchen and the food now is very similar. The decorations are a little different but overall the breakfast is consistent. Unfortunately, our hash browns were really undercooked and soft which we attributed to them being so busy on a holiday weekend. I did add salt/pepper to everything which is typical because I'm one of those salt lovers you hear about eventually developing high blood pressure. The portions are great and I love their big coffee mugs. This is a great breakfast spot on the island and we will be back!

We decided to order to go, due to the fact that it was a holiday weekend. This place can get really busy. We ordered biscuits and gravy, western omelets, and two kids meals. They gave me a 45 minute pick up time. I showed up and the place was slammed, so I was glad that I ordered to go. The food was good, but since it was packaged I know it would have been better there. Portions were very large and the omelets were stuffed. My kids loved there pancakes eggs and bacon, and they gave us plenty of jelly, butter, and syrup. Great place if you don't feel like making breakfast.
