The location is awesome and so kid friendly. The server was great, but the food was terrible. We had the burger, wrap & nachos and none of it was even just okay. Hoping it was just a fluke.

Great location and access from the unifour. Easy year-round access by auto, only 10 minutes from Granite Falls and 20 minutes from Hickory via 321-A. 20 miles from the Oxford dam and 1/2 mile from the Rhodhiss dam.

First we have to give it up to the staff for being awesome and super accommodating. Second, that menu is ridiculous! So many great things to choose from it was tough. We sat on the patio outside and it was beautiful the people in Forest City were all so friendly literally everyone that walked by said hello. The food and drinks came out fast and done right. Nothing was rushed but promptly served with a great attitude and sweet disposition. Six people with apps beer and entrees including steak and it was only $120. We will definitely be back.

Oh! the view. I always like dining near the water. It is always so relaxing. We sat outside so we could look at the view while enjoying a terrific meal.I am an out-of-towner when in Hickory, where I go to visit family. While I am in Hickory my son likes to take me out to dinner at least once. This time it was to the Copper Penny Grill. And I am glad he took me there. The place is brewing with charm, scenery, and exceptional food varieties. There is good old-fashioned American food like burgers and fries, and of course a few steak items like Prime Rib. There are also several choices of Italian dishes which include pasta mixed with other foods. Or you might enjoy a little bit of Mexican, like Tacos. The menu is endless with variety.I ordered the Steak House Pasta ♦Tender broccoli, red peppers, and linguini sautéed with teriyaki sauce and topped with beef tips, with an opening Penny appetizer of Crispy Mushrooms - battered and fried to a golden brown served with our creamy horseradish sauce. My son ordered the "Boom-Boom" Shrimp Tacos with a side salad and my daughter-in-law ordered a Kentucky Bourbon Burger with fries and a salad. If none of these are to your liking, there are also a few fish dishes, Paninis, Sandwiches, or wraps. Check out the entire menu on their website. All-in-all it was a great dining experience.

Kid-friendliness: While we were dining, one of the employees brought out the equipment for a good, wholesome game of Cornhole. I noticed there was at least one child, about 10, enjoying the game as well as a few adults pitching in also.

I have been looking forward to coming to the copper penny. My daughter's took me on mothers day. And it was a big disappointment. Beautiful place on the water. But service and food was terrible..if I had to pick which was worst, between food or service.. it would definitely be the service.

Excellent food great prices. The staff are very friendly and helpful they just need more of them. But it's a great place to eat I definitely recommend it and will be back!

Parking: There's the main parking lot which has quite a few parking spaces and also a place across the street as well.

I do not recommend Copper Penny! We went to have a nice lunch but the server wouldn't come to the table. I got up went to the bar and ask for menu's and a couple sweet teas. She brought over the teas then never came back. Other customers were coming in to sit and she was getting their drinks and food but just kept looking over at us and never came to take our order. We got up to leave and ask for the manager to come talk to us. The manager could have cared less. She said I guess she was busy. Really!!! If you know that is a problem how about you go help her. I will not be back and I will tell my friends not to go. Terrible service!!!

No service!Just sat outside in the bar area. We had to get up and ask for drinks and menus. Waited another 20+ minutes and the bartender looked at us a dozen times...nothing.After 35 mins waiting for service we got up and requested to speak with a manager. All the manage did was make an excuse for the bartender...SMH (but they sure expect that 20%+ tip)
