I’ve been meaning to stop here for a long time, but I’ve never been able to get there when they are open(10-2) but I finally did. This place is awesome!The cheeseburgers were probably the best I’ve had, seasoned just right, with soft buns. Two cheeseburgers, one L,T,O, and one with chili, onion and slaw. Great service, friendly and I found the rapport between the staff entertaining and part of Johnson’s appeal. It’s a throw back to the good old days of roadside stops and I’d call it a hidden gem that’s not so hidden! Just bring cash, it’s worth the trip the ATM. (My review states $10-20 per person, because I ordered 2 cheeseburgers, fries and a soda)

Fresh hamburgers cooked on a grill. Sit at the counter and watch or grab a booth and let them bring it to you. Sign says they started in 1946 and probably still in the original building.

This place is an institution so we had to try it out. We had a burger and a cheeseburger but I heard someone order a double cheeseburger, which is not on the menu. They were good but be forewarned that if they are busy (usually) it will take 40 minutes to get your burger. You may wonder why as I did. Turns out they only cook 12 burgers at a time so there's a backlog of burgers. Been doing it that way for 75 years because they feel like they can only manage 12 at a time and they don't want to mess with success :)

Only open 10am to 2 pm. I heard that it was the best burger restaurant in the area, but it wasn't really worth the 40 minute wait. This is actually the longest time that I have ever waited for a cheese burger!You can't call in but if you ever want to eat there, order On-line only so you can be out of there in 10-15 minutes!! Otherwise you will be waiting for more than a half hour! Great cheese burger but not that great to wait for 40 minutes....
